I have to be honest, I rely alot on my GPS; it may not be the "most" important item, but it ranks pretty close to the top;
What have you purchased that has changed your hunting?
:campfire:
My Toelke "Super D" has upped my confidence level 10 fold, so I'd have to say that is my best purchase in recent years.
My ghillie suit. It has really changed the way I hunt.
My GPS unit.
A quality safety harness. Never used to use one. What a dummy. :banghead:
Contacts! Could never get comfortable shooting with glasses.
Now I'm shooting like I did in my 20's and 30's.
Really helps to see your target without looking between lenses or having neck pain from turning your head to far to make the progressives line up.
Wish I'd done this 6 years ago instead of taking the cheap route with glasses.
Now if I could just get back my hearing.
I really like the "Muck" boots I bought last fall.
Hap
Thermacell
I haven't purchased yet but will soon...Ghillie suit. Like previously stated, i think it will change my hunting and overall enjoyment significantly.

more arrows
Recurve bows after having put them aside in 1975.
A good set of binos.
My Selway 'Lil Mag bow last year. Had been shooting a Wing recurve up till then; finding this style bow suits me much better.
Just plain feels better, I shoot better, and get a lot more pleasure shooting.
A new set of wedding rings for my wife. I have got a lot of hunting trips out of that good deed.RC
What changed my hunting cannot be purchased.
I would say my thermacell unit would be up there too.
Updated to the lite hunter safety system
Bow building supplies from Binghams.
It's turned traditional archery into a year round hobby for me and has given me a greater satisfaction while in the woods hunting with equipment I made myself.

Yep, me too. Thanks to GFA's book on Stalking and Stillhunting, I know better how to use them too.

My blood tracking dog

Two things:
1. SBD 6-strand strings have had a big impact on bow performance.
2. Insect Shield clothing -- absolutely works and keeps mosquitos and ticks away.
Cari-Bow Slynx
My yearly Trad Gang $20 contribution has gotten me invaluable information and many memories.
I've learned a lot from this site, have made a lot of friends from this site and have had hunting opportunities that were generated from this site. Money well spent!
besides bows, arrows, b/h, feathers etc
the best deal is the game cart. This year I hauled out an elk in one trip alone. I love that cart.
Flowers for my wife. ;) :bigsmyl:
Tree safety harness. Also, a very large and well stocked camp first aid kit. I haven't needed it, but it gives me comfy feeling knowing its there.
I did like RC, took several heirloom rings & the wifes wedding ring to a good jewelr and had nice one made for her. That was leverage for Alaska moose hunt this fall. :D
I purchased a good set of binos pretty early in my hunting career, before a wife, mortgage and come September, a child.
My SPOT unit allows for my wife to feel more comfortable with me venturing out far from home and my Mystery Ranch pack helps me get there.
A recurve bow..I forgot what I've been missing.
good boots. ive always used junk boots, and suffered for it. bought the hanwag alaska gtx boots and havent looked back...
New Garmin Montana, with chip on property ownership. Helps a lot for hunting access.
Quality clothing and quality rain gear. The price is steep, but the benefits have been tremendous.
I will say it was my first Traditional Bow it open my Eye's.
Waldrop Pac seat. Got it the end of March. Between the seat and my home made ghillie poncho I feel 100% more confident I'll break into the 15-18 yard bubble this season. Been shooting from the seat with the ghillie this off season. System is working great.
Simmons Treesharks ...
I should also add my Double Bull Blinds. Treestands in cold weather are getting to be challenging for this old buck. The blinds solve a number of "problems" for me.
My first trad bow!
Lifelines for all my stands.
Decent binoculars
I would say my Waldrop pac seat. That would have to be some of the best money I've ever spent. Awesome seat for a ground hunter!
Jason
Ghillie suit. Never been a big fan of pop up blinds. At 62, I am not climbing trees like I used to. The Ghillie lets me stay on the ground, be more mobile.
Every thing and anything I have purchased that involves traditional archery (which is not a lot yet)has been the most important at the time I bought it. Thus the reason I bought it (and due to money considerations). Everything seems to build my confidence and makes me that much better of an archer.

:goldtooth:
My new Left Hand Fedora recurve. Due to right shoulder problems that will lead to surgery, I had to learn to shoot lefty.
Feel very confident now shooting both ways but it's nice to know I can still hunt if the right shoulder gives me problems. Surgery is still one year away.
There's a lot of good ideas about things to maybe get or try. I like it.
I haven't gotten much so I guess I'd have to say my MOAB....... :archer2:
Good jewelry for the Mrs. always pays off.
Every time I pass through Steamboat Springs, a certain jewelry store gets a chunk of my money. It has done more for getting me return trips to that part of Colorado than anything else I can think of. ;)
Bayer aspirin, 81mg.
1 a day.........doctors orders!

x whatever number we're on
My wife got a full carat diamond ring for our 5th anniversary. She was so elated with it. Well, yesterday I got a 'short' long tube in the mail from Ron LaClair. In it was a 56" Classic Hunter Carbon with "Ray Lyon Anniversary Bow" inscribed on it. A 'little' bling for the ladies goes a long way in the woods gentleman..... :clapper:
Heater Body Suit
LW handclimber.Wish I had gotten one years sooner.
Garmin 60csx gps unit. Still carry a compass for backup, but for getting in quiet in the dark the gps can't be beat.
Swarovski binos would be the second.
I bought an 81 acre farm in west central Illinois. Best investment I ever made. Dick
My collection of Hill bows"Cheetah,HalfBreed,Wesley" ain,t nothin better.........
My kajika stik (recurve or longbow) with out it nothing else matters!!!!
