Spot and Stalk
Treestand
Still Hunting
Groundblind
Mine is natural groundblind, but am trying to become better at still hunting;
:campfire:
I use to shoot about 50%-75% still hunting but as I've grown older I find I don't have the balance it takes so in the last 10 years or so I've found most of my deer are taken from a treestand.
Tree stand hands down
Treestand.
Xbox. Cabelas dangerous hunts hands down.
Treestand
Treestand almost exclusively.
Spot and stalk almost exclusively.
I do sit in a blind for turkeys and antelope.
I do sit in a tree for bear or when I head east for whitetails.
Treestand all the way for me.
But I think ground is more fun.
Ground blind.
Still hunting.
Hap
I use all of them depending where I'm hunting and for what. Still hunting and spot and stalk out west for elk. Mostly treestand hunting, but also some still hunting and natural ground blind hunting for deer. Blind for turkey.
Treestand!
Kill or no kill...ground is the only way I hunt. Love it down there!
Jason
More deer have came from natural blinds for me.
spot and stalk still hunt
treestands for the most part !!!! but a lot of spot and stalk for small game like everyone else I imagine.
Stalk to the stand then the tree for me
Tree stand. I rarely, except when out west, hunt any other way for big game. I hunt turkey from ground blind. Out west I've hunted mulies and antelope from the ground (home-made ground blinds).
I've been most successful from trees for whitetails, but I have the most fun still-hunting or sitting in a natural ground blind in a fresh spot.
Calling. I love calling animals! Gives me a sense of interaction with the animals.
I agree with yornoc...ground is more fun
Trying to do more from the ground. Our winds shift so often I have been more successful from trees.
Downwind of a active trail in a natural ground blind.

same here
Tree stands for sure.
Ground Blind: Deer, Hogs & Javelina
Spot & Stalk: Javelina
Most successful harvesting has been in treestands.
Most fun has definitely been on the ground in a ghillie. I'm spending more and more time on the ground now, and while not as successful in taking animals I'm having a lot more fun.
--all my mule deer I've taken on the ground.
-- all 4 elk from tree stands
--and all my w/t from tree stands.
50-50 blind and treestand
Mostly treestands but am getting more into ground blinds. As I get older, I am less comfortable climbing trees.
Deer & Bear - Treestand
Ground Blind - Turkey & sometimes for hogs
Still Hunting & Spot/Stalk for elk, hogs, and most other critters.
Ground blind
Still hunting
Tree stands - most shots, but least fun, for me.
Tree stands for deer. Still hunt/spot and stalk for hogs.
Tree stands, but planing on hunting on the ground a little in the evenings this yr. Got some very good spots with good trails that have blow downs close to them.
Tree stands for whitetails and spot and stalk on hogs and javelina.
I like to make things happen, rather than sitting in a tree stand or ground blind waiting for all the stars to aline! So still hunting mostlly when the weather is right and trees when winds are changing often! ground blinds when ther are no trees for a stand and I have a good trail to watch!! Most success still hunting in a light rain or high winds!! I shot a few in their beds like this!!!!2 Last fall!
Spot and stalk, I must have ADD, I can't sit in a tree all day and call it hunting....
Treestand.
My most successful style of hunting is still hunting. I like ground blinds too. I judge a hunt as successful if I've had a great time, seen some fantastic country, spent some time alone in the mtns. & with God. :campfire:
I no longer have to kill something to have had a very successful hunt. ;)
I've seen some really interesting things from a ground blind too. As I get a bit older, I'm not as comfortable in a tree stand anymore.
Frank
Treestand, unless its windy. Then I'm sneaking, especially when Moose are rutting!
I appreciate the response that this thread has gotten, but I must admit that I am a little suprised at the number of hunters here that hunt treestand; absolutely nothing wrong with it but I just have a hard time of moving around in a treestand with a longbow; makes no difference at all how one chooses to hunt just as long as you enjoy it to the max;
Let's hear some more..........
Niether. Drive to a spot sneek in call for 5-30 minutes . Go 1/2 to a mile call for a bit go try another spot might need to drive to the other spot. Most of the time I know where im going to go and have a plan where to start and where to end the day. Some places are better in the am ,12 noon or evening. You cover lots of ground . Some times I hit the same spots in the same day some I hit only once a month. Spot and stalk for the other stuff. Now I want to go hunting.
Stillhunting! Trees where I hunt are not very good for a stand.
Trees would ne the most successful but I love ground blinds and have been very successful in them too. Very exciting to me to be on the ground and close!
I have had pretty much the same success the last couple years from tree stands and on the ground. Both have their advantages but I sure like carrying less crap into the woods.
Loc-on Treestands for me
