Title: Wing falcon brace height
Post by: magnus on June 07, 2012, 12:40:00 PM
I have an older wing falcon that is 25@28" set up for Steph and need to know the recommended brace height. It shoots great but it is a noisy bugger. Thanks!

Since you didn't state the length, "if" the Falcon is 62" in length, a very good starting point for the brace height is 8".

I forgot to mention this.

The brace height I use is measured from the beginning of the string to the deepest part of the grip (throat).

Just sold my buddy a 62" early Wing Falcon. 8" brace is perfect. Great bow.

I bought a 62" 24# @ 28" Wing Falcon for my wife a little over a year ago.  The first shot out of it, I thought the limbs had delaminated it was so noisey.  After examining the bow and not finding anything obvious, I tried a different string off another bow I had.  Quiet as a mouse.  Don't know what was wrong with that one string, but it was the loudest I have ever heard.  Even had a couple others shoot it with that string and they had the same results.  Might try another string and see what happens.
