I'm very excited to receive the chinook I won in the St. Judes auction and I'd like to hear others opinions of them. I've seen some mention of a 60" model and also of bow bolt takedowns. Anyone seen or have either/both if the above? I'll probably break down and order a 60" set of limbs for my lynx, but wanted to see the Chinnok first. Anyone have any good photos?
Thier a sweet 50s style bow thats pleasant shooting. One of the quietest recurves.I had two 60 inchers and liked them both. They will shoot well with both B-50 and high performance strings.
ALL of Dan's bows are top notch.
And all are as quiet a bow in their class that you can find .... and that to me is a BIG plus
I shoot longbows just about all the time but I have owned a Chinook. It was extremely fast with a dacron string, absolutely dead in the hand stable and very, very quiet. It was designed and built by Dan and Jared Toelke so craftsmanship was flawless. If I shot recurves it would be considered in a "if I could only have one bow" conversation. I believe I still have some photos I'll try to post later.
If I wasn't "married" to my Whip I would be at the very least "dating" the Chinook. They are a DANG FINE bow.
So we can confirm that there were/are 60" chinooks out there. He doesn't list that or the bow bolt on the site.
Dan, is great to do business with give him a call he answered all my questions and alot more. Will let you know how the chinook shoots for me next week.
Yes I have had 2 60" chinooks.I have seen them with the bowbolt before in an all Phenolic riser on his website awhile back under stockbows. It sold
You've got the fever bad, good luck.
Brad, you go through the bows, don't you?
If you're ever up this way and we have time to piss away, I'll introduce you to my buddy Al. He's well over a dozen Toelkie's now.
A chance to pick up a Toelke and help out the Kids, how's that bad?
I should be out that way around Sept. Have a fully guided powderpuff hunt planted for bruins. You know the type, easy walking, mint on your pillow, 5 star dining. Should be tagged out by day two if the guide is worth his Scotch. Should give me plenty of time to kill...I'll look you up! ;)
Laffin....
At least you're bringing a bow from my neck of the woods.
Where I hunt, you might find 20 bucks under your pillow in the morning :)
The bows come and the bows go. In the end I usually break even and I have a better formed opinion on things. Once in a blue moon I even make a buck. The market has been beat down so much recently i've taken it as a good opprotunity to try some bows I never thought I would own. Hence that recent silvertip disaster! :)
