I am thinking of buying my first tree stand. I can not deside between the lonewolf Alpha and the lonewolf Alpha assault. I like the fact that the assault is lighter. Any ideas

I have them both, and it really just depends on the situation as to which one I use.The main difference, besides size/weight,is that the Alpha has the angle adjustments that can be made to the platform WITHOUT unfastening the seat, unlike the Assault. Also, you can't use the offset bracket on the Assault.

I was in the same boat. Couldn't decide between the two. So I bought a Summit copperhead. Weighs 12 lbs and comes with pack straps. 140 bucks vs 190. Plus the summit you can buy different straps so you can have a few up in different trees,Just a thought.

Take a look a Screaming Eagle.

I bought the big Lone Wolf And I love it. I wouldn't want to sacrafice the extra weight for the little bit of weight.

Huntinoly,
I would have sworn you asked about Lone Wolfs not Summit or Screaming Eagle.
I have both alpha and assault. The only thing I can say is the cable on the assault is closer to your leg which can cause a squeak if you don't pull your pants cuff down over your rubber boot. Can't beat it if you have to haul it any distance.

Todd, how is the alpha and assault for long sits. Are the comfortable? Do you use climbing sticks. Sid

The Assaults for 2007 will have the bigger down tube like the Alpha so that the adjustments, e-z hang hook and offset bracket can be used.
