Which do you prefer and why.

Large grip cause I have a large paw!
-
Large straight handle grip because I shoot them better.
-
Small pistol grip with a narrow throat because I have small hands.

I like a high wrist, I shoot with my hand almost horizontal and barely grip the bow with one finger. If I grab it like a pistol, I tend to torque upon release. Tournament shooting tought me this about myself, one of my biggest improvements in accuracy for me.

Small, narrow throat (less than 5"), medium grip. I like a grip with palm swell.
My hands are smallish and I like the grip to help me set my bowhand knuckles on a 35-45 degree angle. I lightly close my hand on the grip and I like the thumb and middle finger to touch, or nearly so.

I personally like a narrow locator grip with some type of palm extension. I have huge hands but large blocky grips don't work for me. My thumb looks like a drumstick so bigger grips don't settle into my palm very well.
With My palm measuring 5 1/4" across the palm extension let's the grip settle in the same place every time.
Kanati grips are a good example of what works perfect for me.

I like a narrow but deeper grip. I.e. northern mist straight grip

What Roy said, plus I feel that a smaller handle helps assure that I don't torque the bow.

On a straight grip, traditional Hill-type longbow, I have found, (through rigorous experimentation), that despite my small hands, I shoot a narrow, deep grip, the best. I have found the "old school" narrow wedge, (1" wide by 2 1/4" deep), to be the most consistently repeatable grip for my Howard Hill longbows.

I also like a 2 1/4" straight grip on my Hill and Hill type bow. I have big hands.

I like narrow straight grips. I shoot them better

Smallish, 4 5/8" throat, med. low to medium, with a slight palm swell located in the right place.
