I had to share this after seeing the cute little whitey fawn on another thread. I was at work doing my thing and darn near stepped on this cute newborn antelope. If I had not been keeping my eyes peeled for rattlesnakes, I may have stepped on it! It never moved a muscle. I took a couple pics and moved out.

I've never even seen a picture of one hid up before, let alone getting to see one for real! That is just too good, congrats.
Thats cool Tracy, he still looks wet from here!
That little guy has no idea how lucky he is. That is the safest antelope fawn on the planet at the time. He has the coyote trapper standing over top of him. Great picture Tracy!
I was thinking the same thing Kenny :D
Thanks for sharing Tracy that is cool.

I didn't want to mention it here, but I did kill a wet female coyote and removed a den of pups under 500 yards from this fawn. This fawn has a chance at life.
Good job  if that wouldn't have happened that fawn wouldn't be alive now. That's for sure.
awesome photo Tracy

First pronghorn antelope fawn I've ever seen when someone walked up on one. Nice photo too.

For some reason, I just realized that whenever I think of newborn fawns a white tail comes to mind. This is the first antelope fawn picture I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing.

I walked up on one once...I thought he was all dead and dried up...the way he was lying so flat on the ground.
The guy I was with told me that's how they hide, and that when they are that young they have no scent to prevent preditors from picking them off so easy. Not sure if the scent part is true....maybe someone could confirm.
Thanks for reviving those memories I got while fly fishing the BlackFoot. :coffee:
Your right, walking too close may be a problem as well. Read this warning from the AF.
