The St. Judes auction produces a wonderful gift for the kids and all you TGers should be very proud of the total funds raised over the years. However, I was thinking, (sometimes that gets me in trouble and sometimes I just go to sleep when I think) although there are a lot of items in the auction, the number of successful bidders is relatively low when compared to the number of registered members. Right now we are looking at 36,000+ members.
So, here is my thought and challenge to all the UNSUCCESSFUL bidders and members. After the auction, make a cash donation through TG to St. Judes. If each member would give just $10.00, we could boost the auction total this year by over $360,000.
What do you say, can we do it this year?

A cool idea. I went through my first year (last year) unaware of the auction, have made sure to do some bids this year, and hope to be on top of things enough to list some items next year. this would be a great way for the whole community to show its heart.
That's a great idea! I haven't bid on anything but would be happy to give $10. Count me in Danny.
Danny,
Good thinkin!
Even if I win an auction item, I'd be happy to participate in this as well.
Ive been outbid on several things.. And i will gladly donate $10. Great Idea..

I couldn't get my link to work with my I Pad so I just copied and pasted Doug's instructions..
Way to go Ric!
And then I posted it twice! Lol! :wavey:
Randy -
Thanks! I had not seen this post from Walt. The non-winning bidders along with every other member can send their donations to Walt. Thanks again for bringing this up to the forefront.
Best of all, you don't have to bid/buy something in order to get your donation to St. Judes Hospital. Now, all 36,000+ members, break out your checkbooks for a $10.00 donation. You can't buy a 1/2 dozen broadheads for $10.00! Let's see if we can overflow Walt's mail box and frustrate his carrier.
Danny
Good post Danny. Lets keep it up top.
Good idea Danny. It's so great that many give so much and the opportunity for others to just give a little will go a long way.
Great idea. With the economy had, it will take numbers, not high bids. Come on guys, for the kids!
Wonderful suggestion Danny. Consider it done.
OK folks, I'm placing my check in the mail this morning. I've also changed the subject of this thread to more accurately reflect it's direction.
Let's take care of business and get 'er done!
Great idea Danny, I will...
.Keep this to the top,
.spend extras to win my treasures,
.Buy something that I don't want/need if it is un-bid upon, Lets clear the boards.
.make a little extra donation if I can,and I can.
Spread the word people!
CTT

I'm in!

Here is the spot guys, at the top of Auction 5 Cash Donations (http://auction1.tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=167;t=000075)
Thanks!
OOps, I posted this on the Auction forum. Hope that doesn't muddy up the waters. Here's what you'll see after you send your paypal donation:
"Raymond, you have sent $10.00 USD to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."
I didn't want to wait for the end of the auction. For those with a Paypal account, it takes all of 2 minutes maximum to get this done. It's our time to shine!
Great idea!!
I have an auction item that I plan on matching the winning bid.
Yep, a lot of folks here can't hang with the some of our very generous Trad Gang members when it comes to bidding on auction items, but this is a great way to still be able to support a very worthy cause.
My check is in the mail. Now I'm headed over to the auction site. Let's keep it going.
:clapper:
TTT
Back over to pg. one!!!
Checks in the mail for $25.00, not $10. If you can give more than $10 don't hesitate to do so. Its all for the kids. Great thread.
I know things are tight in the country right now guys, but we can do this in $10 steps just like we can done it in $1,000 steps.
WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT IF WE SET A RECORD THIS YEAR $10 AT A TIME!!!!
paypal takes two minutes...it works!
Back to the top. Like Tony says, "paypal takes two minutes."
TTT for a good cause.
FYI, Terry posted on Batmans Turkey raffel that the raffle will say open for a few days so that all of us that get outbid at the end can still get into the raffle!!!!!
Except for the Turkey Raffle, the auction is over. Now is the time for those of you who were outbid to make a cash donation for the kids. Let's get this back on page 1. PayPal, checks or money orders; IT'S ALL GOOD!
:bigsmyl:
TTT for a good cause. If you didn't win an auction item you can still contribute. Loosen up those purse strings and write a check to St. Judes and mail it to Walt Francis. :notworthy:
YUP, I bid and won some Larry the Cable Guy cd's and sent an extra $10.00 over the bid. As Larry would say, "GIT R DONE".
My mom was disabled and had to use crutches from age 11 yrs until she died at 62 yrs old. Mom was a State Champian archer in the state of Michigan more than once and walked over the course using crutches. So I have a real soft spot for the disabled.
Send a few bucks in for the kids.
Just sent a donation via paypal, hope it's not too late and did not see where to reference trad gang auction but as long as it gets to the kids. Computer had been down, so I could not bid at the auction. Brian
I won a couple and threw in a little extra, too. Once your hand in already on the checkbook, it's not so hard.
