I Found out Schafer made a few 56" recurves and actually thought I was going to be able to buy one. Didn't get it but now I convinced myself I want to try a 56" recurve.
Who makes 56" recurves and let me know which ones you would recommend?
I know there have to be some good ones out there.......
Black Widow PCH
The Kempf Kwyk Styk is offered in 56". They tell me it's not a bad bow... :saywhat: :dunno:
The PCH is a machine.
Morrison and Zipper archery.
RER makes a short riser 56" Static tip curve also, max draw 29"s...
I'm sure that you can't go wrong with a Shafer! I've got an old A Mag riser Fred Bear 56" bow that I should never part with. If you can find one of them, you'd be in good shape IMO!!
Widow all the way I have 2 CHXs and love them. Widow
Cascade Archery makes several in that length and shorter.
Jack Kempf Raven with static limbs.

X2
Lewis hollow archery makes a very good 3pc bow and is a sponsor here
I own Wes Wallace bows. Wes started making a 15" riser which he calls his B-model. The original Mentor riser is 19". I had an extra set of limbs that were 60" and now after purchasing my 15" B-model riser I have a 56" recurve. It is very high performance, best I have. It shoots fantastic, nothing short of awesome, if I had to sell all my bows but one, this bow would be the last to go. Great for any situation. You can buy a complete bow or interchange limbs from other Mentors. But if the patience is running thin than see if you can get your hands on a 56" Chekmate/Cascade.Very well mannered bow for a shorty.
All the best in your search.
I have had a ton of 56 inchers and as far as recurves go here is my top 3
1. Zipper SXT- The best recurve I have ever owned.
2 Cascade Whitetail hawk- a great bow and a even better price
3 Black Widow PCH- a good bow from a great company.
I found a 56" kwyk Styk and I am going to give that one a try.
I did not expect this many options - thanks for input, I will start looking into these bows!!
If anybody has one in the 45-50# range and is interested in a longer bow as trade or willing to sell shoot me a PM.
Thanks
Mike
Neil Jacobson of Bears Paw bows makes great bows and recurves as short as 52" I believe the model is called Litespeed.

I believe there are quite a few bowyers making 56" t.d. recurves. Dan Toelke makes a couple of excellent ones, his Curlew and the superb little Lynx which can also accomodate longbow limbs.
