Title: Anyone ever heard of west system G Flex epoxy??
Post by: Bullfrog 1 on May 17, 2012, 06:47:00 PM
Anyone ever use this. I hate that epoxy in the tube syringe. A time or 2 of use and it's done. This looks like good stuff but expensive.    Bill

I've used West system epoxy for building strip canoes.  Because I usually had some lying around, I also used it to glue on limb tips.  Held real well.  Never used it to glue up a bow.  I don't think the stuff I had was called G flex.

Big name in the canoe and kayak world for building and repairs. No clue if it is good in the archery world.

West system epoxy is THE epoxy, not just for smal craft like canoes but big multi-hull race boats- both sail and the big off-shore engine driven hulls that launch off wave crest after wave crest for hours-going about 80 knots. thats haulin' arse in a boat that spends half its time flying through the air (just before it slams into the next wave).

If they put their name on it, it is good.
