Anybody using them this year on woodies? If so what kind of wood and what is your arrow weight?
getting the hunting itch......
Yep, Got some on POC ready for August bear hunt, then whitetails. Shooting cedar at about 550 grn out of 53# Mohawk
I've been using them, and 4-blade deltas for about 30 years, maybe a bit longer. Excellent flight and make a big hole. My POC arrows are 525 to 700 grains, depending on what I'm hunting and the weight bow I shoot.
If I draw a Maine moose tag I will be shooting them on Surewood shafts with total arrow weight of 688 grains after adding a 75 grain woody weight behind the Delta. Will shoot 4 blade Deltas at whitetails off a 49 pound Cari-Bow Slynx
I've shot 'em for at least 30yrs, have seen no need to change. Got them on Doug Fir and Cedars, 500 to 650gr depending on what bow their coming out of.
I'm going to mount a dz single blade Deltas on my Super Ceeders for this fall. Deadly combination for big game.
My 2 blade Delta woodies weighed about 520.
Just made up some poplar arrows using delta's. Total weight around 625 gr. I'll be using them in September for elk in Colorado. Have used them on cedars in the past also.
