So, today at work things weren't going so well and one of the older guys who works with me starts to sing, he's Italian and like to sing the "classics". So he starts belting out a few lines of John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High", why that, I have no idea. Anyway, my mind starts to drift away to visions of the mountains in September, cool, clear nights and warm, sunny days, the leaves that beautiful, golden color. I pictured myself sitting on a bluff, bow in my lap, pack next to me, a big antlered mule deer in my spotting scope, the occasional bugle drifting up the mountain. The wind is in my face and hope is in the air. My favorite place to be in the world! It's only a dream, but it will have to suffice for now and it got me through the day!
So, what are you dreaming about these days?
I used to work in a factory. When I was on the line I would have a trad mag next to me and my mind would wonder ALOT. I think thats how I kept my sanity.
I am square in the middle of uprooting my family and moving from a rural setting to the suburban life. Pure economics. (as soon as the school year ends)
It is brutal, BUT, we (my family) are lucky, because we have a choice, and a chance. There are many families in my area that are really struggling, and it has just begun. Most of them have NO chance for a better future.
I am daydreaming of new possibilities of hunting new areas, and the availability of more spendable income to pursue the dream of bowhunting!
