Traded into this MOAB recently and honestly had no plans to use it for myself, it was going to be given to my wife. Well before the bows I traded for showed up I picked up a used Bear Montana. My wife shot the Montana and loved it right off the bat and when these showed up I showed her the MOAB and she said, "I like my Montana so you can keep the MOAB". Instead of arguing with her I went out and flung a few arrows through the 50# MOAB that were way too stiff that I had left over from my 60# Wes Wallace Mentor. I was surprised at just how well it shot it for me. I've always been a recurve guy and have only shot a few longbows that I really liked. This bow just simply seems to shoot where its pointed for me.
It was a long week waiting for some gt 35/55's I bought to show up. When they got here I went right to work with them. Four of them were already fletched (with PINK feathers, more on that later) so I was outside bareshafting them in just the time it took to glue an insert in a bareshaft. Started with them full length with standard inserts and a 250gr point. The bareshaft shot weak until I got them cut down to about 29". At that point I had bareshaft groups falling right with fletched groups out to 25yds. That's all the farther I tried them and they fly like proverbial darts. I am also surprised at how fast this bow seems for the draw weight.
The other thing is that the fletched arrows showed up with Pink feathers and I really like how well they show up when shooting them. I'm pretty sure that the arrows I slip through a couple bucks chests this fall are gonna be pink (grin).
Shot this group last night right close to dark at 20 yards and snapped a quick pic. I also picked up an EFA 3 arrow quiver to try on this bow and can't believe just how small and LIGHT it is. It's the perfect fit on this bow. I'm very glad that I got a bow in my hands right now that I absolutely love since it might by my last new bow for just a little while. The wife just told me this weekend that I'm gonna be a daddy! It will be our first. She asked me what I wanted for the baby and my answer was......"it'll need a MOAB" :bigsmyl:

Time to start looking for kids bows. They don't show up all that often used so get going on finding a couple.
Love my MOAB. Can be tuned to be really quiet, shoots as hard and fast as most recurves and top of the line R&D LB's.

Thanks all, and you too Steve, since this is your old bow that you graciously offered up to me. I'm gonna put it to good use for sure.
