OK. Young Merle(converml) has called us out on the " gloom and Doom" post. And a Marine never backs down from a fight. So with the spirit of the auction I post up this challenge/promise to Merle.
Take a gander at batmans hog hunt thread. If the members from 1-14,999 don't post up more money on that hunt than the members from 15,000 and above, I will go to the next 3d shoot after the auction, shoot all the targets, with a skirt on!!! Pics will be provided if needed. So, call us geezers now!
Doc Noc will be the official counter of the funds if he doesn't mind. We know how you youngens like to use that funny
math.
I don't hear much smack talking now,huh?
I did not consider myself a "new member" at 17432, but, according to your deal, I'm gonna be helping the newbies when I buy my chances!
Also, with a name like leatherneck, you can keep the pics hidden and just tell us all about how you wore the skirt to the 3D shoot if you lose. :scared: :scared: :scared:
Sorry for that!
Bisch
:bigsmyl:
Sorry to see you on the other side brother Bisch. But ol Merle set the stage.(numbers) :biglaugh:
A plaid skirt?

Plaid, mini, hula, it doesn't really matter. Cause we ain't planning on losing!
It's almost 9:00pm, I'm getting ready for bed.
Marines is used to wearing skirts, so this is a win-win! :bigsmyl: Just kidding Mike, this Navy Airdale has your back on this one!
owlbait #7963 (I think) ;) :p
This sounds great. Does anyone have an abacus and chalk slate to send to Doc for the ( what's that phrase they used)
cyphering. :jumper:
I'll buy at least one chance when it comes time! Got your back Mike. For the kids, the Marines and
Ohio!
:campfire:
Well thats good of you Buckeye Someone's going to need his back if his skirt has too high a slit.
I guess I'm on the newbie team. Never done this, but after the year my wife and I have had there couldn't be a better cause.
Does the lower number make you feel younger?
This is hard for a fellow Marine is a brother and I always stand with my fellow Devil dogs. But I get screwed with the number I have. I will buy a ticket for the kids, and pray the Marines keep their dignity. Semper Fi
Just as long as he doesn't wear the Eagle Globe and Anchor while he's wearing the skirt I think it will be fine. I'm all in for a fair fight as long as it's St Judes and the kids that are winning.
Thom
Rizzo, you wacked out Italian!
You want ME to keep track of NUMBERS????... what ole Merele said might be true but I don't know how to use a bloomim abicus or whatever with them marbles on a wire either! I used to try to tear em off to shoot with... really ticked off the teacher!
Truly...I'm with Owlbait on another thread about this hunt thing and trying to figure out where and how to send $$$ in "advance"...
Some of these newfangled concepts (while really cool) have me going in circles...
How the devil would you count that anyway?
This is your skirt, your challenge...maybe YOU should "track it", bubba!
I gotta figure out first how to send my few bucks for a chance to be in the South hunting turkeys... and being with at least a couple of turkeys doing it. I know Bernie and I've heard too many stories from B about Batman... I gotta try!
Doc, you're gonna need to run around bare footed for a while.
This is gonna be fun.
:biglaugh:
Looks like we got an opportunity to see an old man in a dress ( I hear its not all that uncommon in some of them homes) which I don't know if I'm up to a sight like that but remember
Its for the kids.
Now I have to go find my riding Derby Doc. :jumper:
Thanks Mike. One thing though, it is a turkey hunt not hogs.
Doc I thought the pay deal was plain enough in my listing . Any way once bidding starts you send from $20 up to $100 to doug via check or paypal with your tg membership # and batman turkey hunt. Then post on the bid thread that you are in for x amount of chances.
Just to be certain, kilts don't count, right?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJVFJ2kb62c
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I thought so too, Don, but then some of the later posts by your Famous Amos group led me to believe there was something else going on..."couldn't post to the thread till your money is in" etc.???
I gotta believe that win, loose or draw, that is going to be the "pound cake war" thread of 2012! :)
I usually wait till it's all over and send ONE payment...but it appears that this baby will need a separate payment to keep things straight--which is fine!
Don't send no abacus to my friend Doc Nock (self-admitted, he'll just play wif it 'n then tear it up) - he's a cal-cu-lator man, preferably one wif a paper roll (no I don't mean toilet paper either). I still got a couple of them an-ti-ques around if you need one, Doc. Don't feel bad though, I know where you are coming from - Don asked me to keep track of the ticket purchases on the hunt thread. (Hopefully) That will keep me busy as a three legged cat with the back door trots. AND I can't even keep scores straight at a 3D shoot, if there's more than one person shooting - whew!
In answer to someone's question - "Yes, Low member numbers do make you feel younger - even if you are older." It's a mental thing - every time I look at my avatar (with my number under it) I jump up and start to do jumping jacks like I'm only 72 again -
(Oh, and good luck to you both with any resulting "Pictures That will Not Die" - even when put in a bonfire.)
I knew that a mention of a Marine in a skirt would draw your attention, Bernie. Maybe you could advise, should poor Leatherneck be unfortunate enough to have to pay up.
No plaid.
(Unless with a white shirt and socks, and a pair of Mary Janes.)
Killdeer~ Archivist of memorable photos. :D
I was waiting for you to weigh in Killdeer, just for the record you'll always be a younge lady to us. Now if that sounded like kissing up it was. Doc is one thing but Killdeer scares me, women spurned and all those (untrue :goldtooth: ) expressions.

Yea, I know.
Aw Doc, your lack for adding is why I volunteered you. For us, you round up. For them, you round down and subtract. Simple. But if you insist I'll find me a banker or accountant.
Awww, coveralls, Killy is a pussy cat.. claws but no fangs. Get her riled and she hisses and spits a bit, but aside from a bit of lacerations about the head and shoulders...nothing to fear!
Too good a heart!
Now..on the other hand, in person, she can muster up a "Look" that would weld a freight train fast to the tracks!
Just remember, old people are too old to fight so we'll just maim ya!
Rizzy,
That might be smart money... I barely trust me with my checkbook!
I gotta be tied up with my Dad's affairs since his passing and while everything was set to be simple...it ain't! :(
Just the thought of "keeping track" made me break into a cold sweat!
Killy, I was planning on asking Bernie to borrow his cheering skirt should this turn south. But I have faith in the little numbered people.
No sweat brother Doc! I gots me a plan. :readit: :bigsmyl:
Don't be scared of wimmins, Coveralls, be scared of wimmins who can SHOOT! :D
I am old enough to know sucking up when I see it, and am too lazy to react to it. I am actually rooting for the youngsters, as it always amuses me to see a guy dealing with the inconvenience, and the hobbling effect of a skirt. Especially a short one. I stopped wearing them as soon as I could get away from it.
I have a dress, it's for other people's funerals. I will not be forced to wear one to my own. :biglaugh:
I believe I saw pics of Bernie burning his skirt.
Shame, really, it was a fetching little number.
Killdeer :(
I just added another ew-neek item to the listing thread. Forgot what team Im on but tally it up tallier. On break from work but when I get home I have more to list.
Dang Jarhead just cost me $20.....
Congrats to Izzy on the 5000 posts!
Yeah, Wayne, and if you win it won't be such a long drive for YOU! :bigsmyl:
Biggie from a man who's avatar is of him in his drawers hunten, you should like the skirt idea...LOL
I see that Leatherneck has a date with a skirt if the oldies loose, but whats it gunna cost the young guns if they loose. Lets see what they are willing to risk. if they are not too scared.

Prolly the worst night mare for pups would be to give up their cell phone for a week! :scared:
Course this newbie, Coveralls, he thinks this pre-post 15,000 member status is cause to be a whippersnapper (which he is by age) and then start labeling those with more "senior member status" as fogies...
Harrrumph! I for one, resemble that comment, but many might not, like some charter guys are still too young to shave!

Izzy, yer member number is below 15thou so you are with us (young) OLDER members but as i understand it you don't get any tallying for offer listings in this here challenge, just for tickets bought (I think - Lord i git sooooo corn-fused these days). However you do certainly get extra St. Jude Blessings from the kids for each additional offer listed, and it appears we as a "GANG", Trad that is, are way behind in that respect, so far this year. So by all means - everyone go home and list everything in the house that isn't nailed down. (Don't git in trouble with momma though.)
Killie is right - the skirt that wore me (all the way down to my current gnome height) was a "fetching number" - in Pink and Grey PLAID (another reason for no plaid now). Until I burned it - it was just pretty much Black after that. :biglaugh:
QuoteOriginally posted by Biggie Hoffman:

Biggie if I send you $40.00 will put it on the hunt. My dang number # is 16,000 something and I certainly ain't no youngen.
Hmmmm - from what I saw on another post/thread by coveralls - I may be wrong, there may be something going on about counting offer listings too. Maybe I better go digging a little and list a couple more items - just in case - for the early birds, of course. Not that I really have anything against late comers - 'specially when they are working to help the kids of St. Jude. :jumper:

I was hoping no one was going to pick on that little oversight. (thanks razorback).
As some of you know I've been in Ecuador for the past 4 years ( winters up here in NY can get downright nasty) this will be my first one in that time I've seen a snowflake and I still don't miss them.
Anyway if the ole cogers win I'll do something I've always though was the ultimate in stupidity. A polar plunge.
Every winter up here on the St. Lawrence river a bunch of lunatics do their thing for another charity. You'll get video / pics that I'm sure my wife will be more than willing to use to back up what she has been telling folk for years, that I'm nuts.

So in light of my future possible cryogenic state I thought that since I have a lot of extra zeros laying around that I was hoping one day to throw on the end of my annual salary (which seems unlikely to happen) this might be a good time to sell them for the kids. The going rate for a zero is $1 so if your member number is for example, 1340 you can buy 2 zeros and for this challenge become # 134000 well past 15,000. Other than looking and feeling a whole lot younger yet retaining the wisdom you have aquired! As a limited time offer ( act now) you'll also have the opportunity to contribute tward Leathernecks fashion shoot ( quite possibly Americas next top model :goldtooth:

[/qb]
I think this task should be done in a thong or the least a pink speedo! [/QB]
I'll hurry and grab the pink speedo idea before something worse is suggested( I was planning on hooded carharts gloves and . Hey Tim I just noticed whose side you on? My side is about as helpful as Leathernecks so I guess thing are even again.
Doc I don't have a pink speedo can I borrow one of yours :bigsmyl:
Spedo??? :scared:
That might be more flesh than any of us wish to see in EITHER case... bowlegged horse jockey or a Marine...can't be purdy in either case!
Bernie I didn't do it this time!!!! :scared:
Killdeer~ and I was being so good!
Merle, due to the number game I have to be on your side. But due to the Marine brotherhood I have to have a brothers back as well. Either way a pink speedo or a skirt is a reason to put a diaper on for the unveiling of the photos.
Get your dramamine ready this will get only uglier  I could be sleeping with the enemy. Wake up shaved and with parts missing.

ouch! That's not what I needed to see! All this talk about old guys in speedos, skirts, and g-strings is making me a little ill. You see what the crafty old buggers have done, they've created a disincentive for us younguns. As much as I'd appreciate the humuliation of the codgers, I'm not sure I want to win if I have to see any more old, wrinkly flesh.
The only thing worse than old, wrinkly flesh is fruity beer, so I'll drink a whole case of that filth if the younduns lose. The old guys can pick the fruityness, I'm sure they all have their favorites.
You saw through it Doc. She won't let me buy swimsuits for her anymore :biglaugh:
Gringol take some dramamine and do for the kids pleeeeese for my sake do it for the kids.
Geeze, I knew my wife has been collecting elephants for years (Somewhere close to 2,000 "in da hous" now) but I wasn't aware some of my dear old friends had become Elephants - with never-failing memories also. Thanks, buddy Doug. Oh well, I don't mind setting a "good" example for other (durned fools) when it's all for the kids of St. Jude - so I forgive all transgressions (that fall in this blessed light, that is). You must admit, I really did pick out a purtty skirt - whichever of you guys get "caught in the flow", be sure you are just as fashionable - neatness counts too. :goldtooth:
Neatness, Bernie...
With unbloused high top boots and rolled up socks
 :bigsmyl:
Bernie I took it as you got up on the wrong side of the bed in the dark and grabbed the first thing you found that felt like shorts. Eyesight is the first to go...LOL

Thanks for the back-up Tim. Looks like it's a pink speedo for Merle. The challenge has been set!!!!!!! :readit:
Now if y'all remember back (I know it's hard remembering for a lot of us - but try) It wasn't what I was thinking, Doc. I was cornered and goaded into it by "others" who insisted on seeing me in a "Cheerleader's outfit, skirt and all", also aided and abetted by still "others" who would not help bail me out with just one more small donation, as begged for (almost on bended knee, by one of the original Kil ... er "others" who had a change of heart at the last minute. I was hung out to dry by my "Friends".
It's all OK though - cause it's all FOR THE KIDS (I keep screaming in my poor feeble mind).
One, or perhaps even two (you can never be sure how things will "turn" on you when offers are offered - LOL), of these current challengers may soon find themselves in the same position - for life (Listen to me while it's still not too late - It never dies, guys - open your eyes as well as your hearts!) - :goldtooth: :biglaugh:
BUT BY ALL MEANS, KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON - FOR THE KIDS!!! :D
Leatherneck I'll trade you one Marine for a dentist. :bigsmyl:
Well, boys and girls, yo all play nice till Sunday night when I get back and the big do-ins gets rollin...
I'm off T'moro to a nice shoot that has grown till it's not what it was but something different... but will see lots of old friends... which is as good as the shoot!
Nice job guys, 15 new items posted yesterday, and they are dandys, the geezers wipped us pups but I think that will change today, Jerry posted at 12 :39 this morning And a lot of other geezers were milling around well past their roosting time so today should be the pups day.
Page 7 is now halfway in the bag, soon that pesky critter will be out of the way.
Keep up the good work all, younge and OLD alike.
Y'all got this working pretty good, guys.
No trading Merle, I gotta keep the tooth puller around for a while. Be careful though, I know a Marine sniper who could be lurking amongst the young guns. :scared:
Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhh. Duck, boys, one round will get you all.
Leave part of your loot for THE KIDS! :wavey:

I've been bad getting stuff listed this year, but I will get it done. Took some pictures today, and will try to do some listings in the morning. Need to bump the old guy totals...
Only three days left to list but we're over the half way point before we start a page 7
Whip says he's up from his nap and will get going once the Metamucil does its thing, so keep your eye on the ole folks looks like they may try to catch us off guard after the gains the pups have made the last few days. :coffee:
Now yer talkin', Whip ol' buddy. I looked around yesterday and only found one more, as a possible second had a slight crack in it. Worst of it was that at the same time I found one I had to remove (listed by accident - LOL). SO NO GAIN (and lottsa pain). Bail out me "senior errors", bud.

TMI!!!
Killdeer :nono: (can't find a little gagging gremlin)
No way Merle, dentist is my right hand. He uses the teeth he pulls from you youngens to keep the count on this here thread.
Be vewy, vewy, careful, with the metamucil jokes. Ol Whip don't take that too kindly. He's a banker you know. That means he's good with numbers. Don't make me draft him to keep the tally. Them there bankers count like this,3 for me,1 for you.
Don't much matter no how, that speedo will be up your crack before too long. By the way, I get to pick the date of your plunge. You better have a good auger!
He better take time of and go tan those cheeks before the speedo fitting.
I'll end up getting arrested for indecent exposure cause after 28 degree water my whole body will be the same color as the crazy pink speedos
I thought all "Polar Bears" had fur coats - too bad this 'un still only has pink skin (and a matchin' Speedo)
Thanks Bernie . I'm one of those Polar Bears with mange.
LOL - well I honestly don't envy either one of you - Just close your eyes and then keep thinking:
IT'S ALL FOR THE KIDS, IT'S ALL FOR THE KIDS!

I hope everyone else can take your comments with a grain of salt as I'm pretty sure you are doing all this in fun. would be cool if you win my hunt and then all the old guys at that hunt can turn u over their knee. I see you are 1967 vintage so not really a youngster at all. My little brother was born in 67. good on you and keep on keeping on. Don
I figger we're all in for a "rare Treat" no matter which way this "Olders/Youngers" thing turns out -

Yep all in good fun, the sides actually are a mix of age groups on both sides it's just where you got caught in the members numbers . That was either a matter of when you got into trad or you could have decades trad hunting an recently got online to access this fine community. Either way it's a community of respect.
That is until Sunday then let the games begin :clapper: leatherneck start ironing that dress.

That's the benefit of not seeing too well - I just looked through the bottom of my bifocals and imagined it WAS Cindy Crawford, flanked by two of her Gir'frens (Jennifer Lopez and Miley Cyrus).
All I got to say is "Shop Smart", guys. Remember it's a one time wear yer planning/dreading (I hope!)
("back in the day", I bought my "Cheerleaders outfit in a second hand store and made the St. Jude Sash myself. I got out from under for only about $2.50 all told, as I recall - 'course I owned the boots goin' in).
