Last Monday I received my new bow "Chameleon", a Thunder Child from BigJim, 56" long and 62 at my 27" draw and a 2 pieces to boot.
The 3 bows I use are from BigJims, 2 Buffs 60 and 65# @27 and this new bow, all of them within 5 pounds. I was aiming to use the same arrow setup for those 3 bows
Work being what it is, I was able to go stumping onlytoday. I hit the road at 7am under rain, and more rain on the highway.
I arrived to that place and all my worries and stress vanished

First 3 arrows were in line but 3 feet low at 15 yards. Tried lighter heads with no effect. Out of the backpack, the pliers and the bow square. The nock was too high. Got it down in 2 small increments
and the bow was shooting where I looked :jumper:

awesome! i like the look of those little bows. How does she shoot compaired to the buff's?
Sweet looking little bow! Looks like a neat area.
Chameleon shoots great the same arrow than my 2 other BiGJims. I shota broahead in the mud bank, it was messy :bigsmyl:
That was a 5 minutes set up.
Chameleon packs a punch!

Caleb, compared to a Buff, there is more preload, but after the first third of the draw where there is more weight it is smoooooth and sweet, she doesn't feel like her weight and the cast seemed the same to me! No adaptation time :campfire: :archer:
I took a few pics to share with you:
Her back is coco with sapwood, stunning

Manny : that is beautifull , nice shootin to boot. If you get any more penetration that arrow will land at my house .
Her belly is osage, very figured

Hey Manny,
Beautiful TC. Where did you end up with the Nock at?
Here is my opinion after this morning session:
I understand why the Gentle Giant personal bow is a Thunderchild:
Smooth and sweet draw, lots of cast!
Light physical weight in the hand
Very silent
New "hunter's finish" (might not be the right term)that is totally non reflective, but looks very rich and deep
As usual, perfect attention to details and a very well packaged bow, a great execution, great string with silencers already intalled, and a high quality bow sock
I loved roaming the wood with a short bow in hand, and found that I could shoot it as if I was shooting this bow for a few month.
I am so happy, a public Thank You to BigJim

My friend, I don't understand how the bow square works, but I use it to repeat the measurement that works:
I put the edge of the nock at the first 1/8 graduation on top. If this is not clear I will send you a picture by email

It's in place like this that you can reflect and be at peace

Very sweet TC and great wood choice... That sapwood Coco is beautiful!!
Enjoy Jim did ya right :)
Great day for sure Ron!
Kip thank you. I simply love the coco/osage combo.
BigJim has wonderful woods, and he is so pleasant to deal with, and he surprised me by naming this bow, a nice personal touch!
What a great experience!
 :notworthy: :campfire:
I completely agree with how great the now shoots. I think he calls that finish his "splatter" finish because of the texture. A nice look.
*bow
