Another big thanks to all of you that have motivated me over the years. This post has a little bit of everything.
About 2 months ago I was visiting a local garage sale when I discovered a 70's model Pearson Hunter. 52" 50XX28 for you techies. The top limb was twisted and the finish was horribly cracked. $30.00 later, it was mine.
10 years ago, I would have never dreamed of purchasing this bow as I would have considered it junk.
Long story short; I brought it home, completely removed the old finish, added some darker stain and refinished with Spar. Added a compass and poof! Absolutely beautiful.
I fixed the twisted limb with advise from old posts and the bow is as good as new.
My old hunting buddy, Clay, is wheelie impaired but has been hinting around about possible interest in traditional. He had a few 2114 shafts laying around so I talked him out of them and refinished those as well. (he had no idea why)
I added a new Champion string and the necessary Bowhush implements and presented it to him today. I wish I would have taken before photos but I'm not that smart. The gist of this story is that I've planted the seed to a new member and I would have done none of this without the knowledge and interest gained from this site.
Thank You.
