Imagine my surprise! I arrived home last night to find a priority box sitting on the counter. Took me a moment to connect the name to Tradgang and Past St. Judes auctions. POUND CAKE!!! Why me? I don't remember being on a winning team.
I have heard other members describe the cake and the descriptions are all true. It is like a slice of Heaven. A moist dense center with a crust that can make a grown man cry.
My dilemma was to eat it neat or add ice cream chocolate sauce and perhaps a dollop of whip cream. Tuning POUND CAKE is an art and Tough work. After slicing 4 (thin) pieces I began the tuning process. In the end I found that the POUND CAKE was perfect as is. Just slice and enjoy.
I went to the Auction Forum and can not find any POUND CAKE listings. So here is my pledge. I will contribute $100.00 for the POUND CAKE I just received.
Thank you Julian Tisdale
Too cool!!!!! :campfire:
Ever tried it after taking it out of the freezer for about an hour? My grandmother makes pound cakes and freezes them to take out when when she wants some with tea (she's from the UK). Still one of my favorite things to do when I visit...followed by a "snort of the good stuff" with Grandpa in the shop as we talk about shooting, archery and anything else that comes up...good stuff!
Les, I think if you can pull up the pound cake thread from last years battle you'll find that you were indeed on the MK team.
Enjoy!
mmmm plus its fresh strawberry season, awesome combination
Les,
I can't accept your thanks but I AM glad you got the cake and enjoyed it so much. I do so little and get so much out of this compared to many others. Multiple people contributed multiple thousands of dollars and kept it mostly under the radar. It ain't me brother......
I asked that my share of the PC not get shipped and Joe brought it to Denton Hill last July.
After straining an arm muscle while trying to pick the huge chunk, I decided to just cut it up and see if I could pawn it off on any bystanders.
Needless to say, I'm glad I got a bite or two, because I blinked my eyes a couple of times......and it disappeared! It's amazing the joy that a little auction action brings!
Doc Jeff (tippit) and Joe (Whip) with me (the short one!) in the middle holding Ms. Delaney's delectable PC.

It was literally the best pound came I EVER ate. I'd ask for the recipe, but it just wouldn't be the same.
Les, my hunch is your hunting Buddy ,Marty, knows his way around a Pound Cake..
If the Pound Cake is truly that good, its almost criminal to add anything to it!

Pound Cake, did someone say Pound Cake :campfire:
Ken are those 2 Ben Franklins I see sitting there. I'll send the leftovers to you for that kind of money. Afraid Im getting close to crumbs though.
Joe its just the aging process..memory goes. I will not forget the taste...Bring on the Pound Cake.
Julian give your daughter a huge hug for me!!
Yes Les those are two Ben Franklins ... thats Buddy and Dakota putting their $$ down last year for a chance at that delicious Pound Cake. Unfortunately Buddy has passed of cancer so gray faced Dakota has promised he would step up double for the kids this year. Lil' D out did herself last year.
Sorry for your loss. It is always hard to loose a friend.
My poundcake also arrived the other day. I think it wasnt a coincidence that Sunnyhill Archer was at my camp turkey hunting this week. :scared:
 :deadhorse:
I think I'll leave a sliver in his blind Monday morning.
Thank you Miss Delaney!!!!!
Just got mine and posted a thread with a photo for evidence!
Just sent in my pledge of 150.00 via pay pal for the kids
Thanks Les!!!
