I definitely decided to get some carbon collars to put on my small game arrows, but am now debating whether or not I should just go ahead and put them on all of my arrows.
The reason I may not though is the added wear on targets and bow quivers. Do you think the added diameter and lip of the collars would be a huge deal, or no?
Would one type of taarget hold up better than another?
I think a lot of people put a bevel on the lip. Hap
I use aluminum arrows for collars and put them on all my arrows. I never have to worry about what arrow I grab for stumping or small game, all arrows are the same and having a stronger arrow won't hurt on big game
I agree
I agree
Put the collars on with JB Weld. You can shape it to make a smooth transition between collar and arrow since it is so thick. It holds well.
The carbon collars do have a taper on both sides. The nock collars only have it on one side. I have not seen issue with penetration using broadheads, but they can make targets a little harder, but not unbearable.
Ah....Johnathan....did the originals have the taper? I know you sent me some of the 1st ones....and I'm STILL using them. I could swear the 1st ones I got werent...maybe I need to look a little closer.
Yep Terry, the first batch run was flat on both sides. I had mine tapered on a machine we have here at 3Rivers and liked it so much that the next batch made had a taper put on both the front and back.
Thanks Johnathan.......I could have sworn the 1st ones were flat....I'll have to get some of the newer ones....
BTW...sent you a check....
