Anyone use these? Are they as good as the grizzly? Looking for the best two blade single bevel but it need a total weight of no more then 200 grain.
Great heads. I have looked them over closely but haven't needed any. Great reputation. They have had a nearly finished edge for a long time.
My son and I use the Abowyer BB on Elk and pigs. We used Grizzlies in the past and prefer the Abowyers-better bevel angles and the fact that they are hunting ready out of the package.
Ive had a few of these heads break. Odd angles but still yet...
I have never personally seen an abowyer head, but the new Grizzlies Bill is producing are awesome. They come with a great grind on them. All that is needed is to run them over a stone a few times and they are SCARY :scared: sharp. They are extremely tough as one I was practicing with earlier this year stuck all the way in the knot of an oak tree and there was no damage to the head after pulling it out. I got the 120 grains and with a 75 grain adaptor and a little glue they all come in right at 200 grains.
Alfredo,
I use the BB's and have killed a couple deer with them here in Wisconsin. Outstanding construction and surgically sharp edges with big wide bevels to drive that rotation. They fly like field points. I also use the Wapiti and may prefer them for their geometry i.e. width. You can't go wrong though, with the BB's. They are probably better than the Grizzly's (subjective) but I shoot both anyway.
Get some, you like em!

Abowyer Brown Bears are precision made and built like a tank. They ooze quality. Click on the link to see a small tour of the factory:

Guys thanks for the info, as soon as my heavy arrows get here I will do a little tuning and see what grain head I can use. It will be the Aboyer or Grizzly for sure.
Steve the factory tour looked very cool. Thank trip looked fantastic !!! Those salmon were beautiful!!
Not trying to throw a wrench in the works but the Tusker Concordes Braveheart carries that come kme sharp are nice heads. 150grs each.

How about some specific details please.
I think the Abowyer line of broadheads is about as good as it (affordably) gets. Fact is...I don't think any amount of extra money will buy a better performing broadhead.
As a matter of personal taste, I'm not a fan of the longer heads (like the BB). I like my heads just a bit shorter and with a slightly sharper cutting angle. I started using the Abowyer Wapiti several years ago. As an example of their performance, I've shot two big Alaska-Yukon bulls and gotten complete penetration each time. My last arrow flew through a bull's ribs and into the thick timber behind him...never to be recovered.

I want to thank ssoden. He was interested in my woodsmen 175. And in return he is sending me 200 grizzlys. So I also ordered 3 pack of Aboyer BB. So I will have the best of both worlds....3 grizzlys and 3 Aboyer BB. Thanks SSoden. Man I love his site. Hogs beware :)
