Title: Friendship with a bow
Post by: Matthew Bolton on May 05, 2012, 05:53:00 PM
I know this sounds odd to others but I think y'all know where I'm coming from so here it goes. Do you have a friendship with a particular bow? I don't mean one you like shooting but that one special bow that just hits a special note. For me it's my second hand zipper longbow. It's not my first bow but I killed my first bow deer with it and I learned how to fix my shooting problems on it. It just grew on me. How about y'all?

I have only one bow - and while I wouldn't say I have a friendship with it, but I've shot it so much over the last 2 years that any time i pick up and shoot another bow it feels jarring. I feel like I've gotten to know the bow's quirks - and on good days, it feels like an extension of my arms.

Sorry, should have added that the bow is a Martin Hunter 50#.

Interesting Matt in that most folks see what they want to see. Dig the narrow cs limbs of my Hills/styles. But, my first heavy hunt bow from 35 years ago, Original Proline Saxon 68" & 75#@28", is a very comfortable friend.
