Post by: chessieboy on May 02, 2012, 10:49:00 AM
I mainly only shoot self bows.  I bought a glass recurse for some bow fishing.  Only problem is its white as a ghost and im spooking a bunch of fish.  Can I paint the limbs and if so what type/brand of paint would you guys recomend?
Thanks Bill

Yes, you can paint the bow. Just use some Camo spray paint. H.S. used to sell a camo spray paint kit.

You can use spray paint or if you wanted to make it more naturally camoflauged you could put snake skins on the back of it.

Go to Wal-Mart and get some shelf liner contact paper.  It comes in woodgrain and looks good on limbs.  I bought a set of used Samick low poundage target limbs to rehab my elbow, the limbs that came from the fella had the wood grain contact paper on them, I thought I would just peel them off when I got the limbs .  He had done a good job putting them on and they looked really good, seemed to be pretty tough too. They were still on the limbs when I sold them later.
