Got a call from Jack on Sunday and picked up my new Raven yesterday. What can I say, at 80 he's still the man.
Here are a few pics of this beauty, 56", 50# @ 28", static limb recurve. He is finishing off a set of 58", 51# longbow limbs for it as well.
I wanted to keep with the theme of a darker bow so chose African Wenge with a Zebrawood flare, with black phenolic and maple strips for the riser. Limbs are stained bamboo with Wenge wedges. Moose antler limb tips, thumbrest, and Jack's signature arrowhead compliment the package.
She shoots with authority, hits where I'm looking, and is deadly quiet.

Ya..beautiful wood combo!
Stunning bow, Congrats!
I'll wait for turkey season to end, then have Guru come over so I can shoot his Raven. Again, you have a real beauty there. I hope Jack passes down his knowledge to someone if HE ever decides to turn the business over.
AWESOME
Real nice looking bow! I'd like to shoot one some time. I had an old recurve by Jack and let it go......may have been a mistake!
Beautiful bow Dale!! What are the chances to get blood on it this spring?
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. It was a long wait but really worth it.
I feel truly honored to have had him make me a bow as he has done so much for archery and bowhunting in this province for decades.
Brent, after 25 years of hunting, baiting, guiding, and outfitting for bears, I am taking a spring off. Quitting cold turkey isn't going so well, so I'm thinking I might get out and do some spot and stalk hunting somewhere in late May.
Joe, I don't believe he has anyone apprenticing or is passing the knowledge on to.
Nice bow...
Jack is "The Man"!!!! :notworthy:
That is a work of art, I bet it feels as good in the hand as it looks

Couldn't agree more Curt.
Jeff, I have a Kwyk Styk that fits me like a glove so left it with Jack for measurements when he was doing the riser. Popped over to his place for a fitting and tweaked it a little prior to his finishing it. Fits absolutely perfect. Going to have him rework my Li'l Grizzly to the same grip and shave some pounds as well.
Dale looks like Jack's done it again.
That bow's nothing but drop dead gorgeous.
Great choice of woods you picked. Makes me want to get back on his list but I guess I'll wait to see what Abe at Cari-bow puts together for me first. We sure are spoiled with our Canadian bowers.
All the best with your toy,now go out and get it dirty.
Enjoy

Here's a quick update on the performance of my Raven. Between vacations and rain storms, I've managed to get out and shoot 300+ arrows. Not a lot of arrows, but enough to give me a really good idea of how it performs.
It shoots with authority, excellent accuracy, and digests any number of different wood arrow spines and lengths. I consistently shoot slightly right of centre but a minor adjustment to the stike plate thickness should take care of that. It remains quiet and shock free.
I can only hope a moose decides to walk in front of me this fall.
