Your comments about Monty's impact, his message, his chariable banquet endeavors, his hunting records, or field accomplishments...etc...in short how he has touched your bowhunting life directly or indirectly...You may have never met him but read him?.Have you ever heard him at a banquet? stuff like that...or simply just type your name in support.... LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN.....

I can think of no one in the bowhunting arena that has promoted bowhunting in such a positive ,unselfish way as Monty Browning from Clemson ,SC for the last 40 years plus. From taking Big Game World records to speaking at 100's of state and national banquets mostly on his dime...he has unselfishly shown all of us the romance and spiritual side of bowhunting. No corporate money behind this gentleman, just his sweat and tears on a postman salary. If you look up the definition of bowhunting in websters....it should just say two words....Monty Browning
I'm all in on this one Joey!!
I had never met Monty before, but had read his stories in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine. There was a church by my house that was looking for a speaker for a wild game dinner. I just picked up the phone and called information and they connected me to Monty's home. I talked to his wife and a day later I received a call back from Monty himself. He said he would speak for no fee and asked all that we paid was his travel. He ended up staying at my house for a 3 day weekend! It was , still to this day, one of the best things to ever happen to me. He shared many stories with me and many tips and made me feel like we had been friends for years. Monty made such an impact on the way I hunt, how I view hunting, how I view the animals we hunt, and how I view life and the relationships we have with other in our life. If you strip away all Monty's hunting accomplishments you would still be left with a great man! The way he talks, acts, carries himself, how he respects and views others has made more of an impact on me than his hunting. In 3 short days, I can HONESTLY say no other person has influenced me more or made as much of an impact in my life than Monty did. He is a hero to me in many many ways. In "Hunting" and "Life". I thank him for that! I have heard him speak at a Professional Bowhunters Society banquet and the game dinner. One could not be disappointed. I feel honored and blessed to have the personal experience with Monty that I had.

I have never met Monty, but am hoping to shake his hand this summer at Comptons. In a world where hunters might have a not so good name, his stands out as one who is humble and never changes his values for anything or anyone. Next to my father and sons, I think of him as a hero and someone who I would love to meet one day to say Thank You for all he has done for me through his example.

I cannot think of anyone who deserves to be in a Bowhunter Hall of Fame more than Monty Browning. He has all ways been willing to help the Carolina Traditional Archers at any time. He has spoken at several of our events and his actions have at all times proved beyond expectations. He is a humble man and could make a preacher laugh in church. He will take time to answer any questions that you may have and will share knowledge like no other that I have met. And Monty has done it the old fashioned way, on his own dime. Your list of inducttes will never be fully complete without Mr. Monty Browning.
I have read his articles in many magazines, for really impressed me is how tough and brave this man is always been. For sure he is been a guiding light in my trad bowhunting journey.Monty never promoted himself and is very humble in his greatness.

i heard Monty speak at a TBG banquet a few years back. He was one of the most down to earth speakers i have ever heard. To my knowledge, he came to us free of charge. He took the time afterwards to speak to everyone for as long as they needed to speak.
His articles in TBM speak volumes of his ethics. He is the kind of person i would want to share a camp with.

Spent some time with Monty 2 years ago. He spoke at a TBOF banquet, and gave talks on African game and arrow weights during the weekend. His experience and insight on Bowhunting are amazing. The man is a walking encyclopedia of bowhunting and ethics.
I have seen the effects of his talks on quite a few people. I know of 5 hunters that probably never would have hunted Africa if not for Monty's speech inspiring them to find a way to make it happen.

I have had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Browning speak on two occasions. I was not just entertained, I was was enthralled! Mr. Browning has the ability to share a story in a way that makes you feel like you are actually there hunting with him. You can feel the breeze in your face, smell the campfire.....your heart starts to race as he speaks about preparing for the shot! Both times I have heard him speak, I left with a feeling of exhilaration, even exhaustion as if I had made the stalk and the shot myself.
Mr. Browning's seminars and articles have always inspired me to "want" to hunt more, hunt harder and hunt "better". To be not only an ethical hunter, but also a more ethical human being and a better man.
In short, I can think of no better man to be inducted into the National Bowhunter Hall of Fame. In my mind, he is already there!

How can you have a hall of fame for bowhunters and not include Mr Browning? Having read many of his stories you know 2 things right off the bat: 1. He is as dedicated to this sport as anyone
2. He has an ability to convey that passion through both the spoken and written word.
I have to believe that others before him ie Art Young, Saxton Pope, Will Compton, Howard Hill, Fred Bear et all would welcome him into their club with open arms and might be a little jealous that he killed a brown bear at 12 feet with his longbow! Mr. Bear might also grin to know that Monty nearly ran him over with his car once too.
Mr Browning deserves this honor. He has captured the imagination of this bowhunter through his writing and speaking, and having been exposed to his experiences has made me appreciate the sport we love even more.

I have found Monty's writings to be informative and inspiring. His hunting exploits and ethical behavior set standards that all archers should aspire to meet. I enjoyed Monty's presentation at the Kalamazoo Traditional Expo. In person, or on the written page, Monty delivers the message that should see him included in the Hall of Fame.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Browning and listen to him speak at a couple of different bowhunting organization gaterings over the years.
Always a true gentelman and a great ambassador for our sport.

Monty Browning has had a very profound and positive impact on Bow hunting. This is evident from his hunting adventures and his speaking engagements. Monty is a First Class Traditional Bow hunter; who is very deserving of a spot in the Hall Of Fame.

Monty Browning exemplifies what bowhunters dream about. He is not one who got where he is by being supported and endorsed by companies, but rather has put in his own hard earned money to fund his hunts, just like the vast majority of bowhunters have to do. He hunts on his own, using his own wits, and has achevied success guided hunters could only dream about.
To read Monty's writings, and to listen to him speak is to be transported into our own dreams, and we long to follow in his footsteps someday. He truly deserves to be listed among the best of the best.

Mr. Browning is a constant contributor to the bow hunting community. From magazine articles to public speaking at banquets and events. He spreads wisdom and shares a wealth of knowledge to others in an unselfish manner. We are all always learning from nature while hunting or just observing. It is a constant learning process that keeps me humble.
Monty is the epitome of the classic bowhunter. He lives bowhunting and has worked very hard to support his adventures. He has shown what can be accomplished when you really put everything into it. Not only his hunting exploits but his willingness to speak at banquets in his entertaining and funny way make him more than eligible. Sometimes I do question his sanity though. ;)

With great morals, ethics, a spiritually sound Christian, family man whose honesty and skills as a bowhunter are rightfully deserving of this honor. They don't come any better than Monty Browning.

Monty was one of the guys that inspired me to make my first trip to Africa. He gave me a lot of good tips on how a guy with no money could make it happen! Monty makes "celebrity" tv hunters look like fools. And Monty is always talking about how much he loves his wife. He is a true modern day bowhunting hero.
Ethan Rodrigue, Pikeville, Tn
I had the good fortune to have hosted both Mr. Monty and Mrs. Annie at one of our banquets. He was a fabulous speaker but more importantly I got to spend some one on one time with this great man. He would definatley laugh at all this, but I to can think of no other person more deserving. Mr. Monty has been an ambassador for bowhunting to many people all around the world. He is his own man and has done things his way without the influence or pressure of outside "sponsors".
He is the perfect example of a true southern gentleman and you'll not ever meet a more humble, genuine, all around good Christian man. I believe Mr. Monty was cut from the same cloth as men like Fred Bear, Glenn St. Charles, Art Young, and the Thompson Brothers.
I am proud to call him my friend.

George Miracle, Pineville, Ky..Captivating speaker, story teller and a dedicated promoter of our way of life.
Monty Browning- Down to earth, hard working, God fearing man, Family man, Ethical bowhunter, Great writer, and and inspiration to be around. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Browning on several occasions. He is always ready to share his passion for bowhunting and traditional archery with all. He has inspired me as well as I know others on finding a more ethical heavy arrow for bowhunting. There unfortunatly are few who can captivate a group of people as Mr. Browning can. He has demonstrated not only through his writing, lectures but with personal contact how a hard working and dedicated person can achieve his goals as long as he applies him/herself. Mr. Browning is an example to the Tradition, Legacy of archery and bowhunting, as well as a credit to his country and community.

What seems a long time ago I corresponded with Mr. Browning when I was building some solid fiberglass hunting arrows in La Grande, OR. I had read one of his TBM articles and was interested in some of the particulars of his arrow recipe. A couple years after that I finally had the chance to see one of his presentations and met him at a banquet in the Boise area. He definitely was inspiring, engaging, and yet so humble.
He is highly deserving of this recognition for his contributions to bowhunting and keeping the arch in archery!

I have had the pleasure ofm hearing Monty speak several times. He is the most enthralling speaker I haver ever heard. His bowhunting achievements are to be marveled at by most of us. He has spoken at our United Bowhunters of Missouri banquet a couple times, the most recent being this past Feb. I have gotten to talk with him a bit and he is just a wonderful, humble southern gentleman that loves his wife and God. I don't think they come any better than Monty. He told us a story of moose hunting in Alaska by himself for 10 days with the most harrowing river ride out to be believed. If anyone belongs in the bowhunter hall of fame, Monty is the one.

I have listened to and read Monty's words for years. When ever we meet at a bowhunter's banquet, his wife is at his side. He has found that ballance between personal and bowhunting life. I know he is working on his own bowhunting book, but I was quite humbled to have him ask about my own. He lacks the arrogance of other "celebraties," and has always maintained a youthful enthusiasim for bowhunting. He is a rare breed of man that makes the people he meets feel special.

I have been fortunate enough to see Monty Speak on two occasions. The first time I was just a young kid. I must have asked him a 100 questions about hunting big game and he never once tunred me away. In his writing you hear his genuine spirit and in his voice you feel his passion. He is a true ambasador and well deserving of the honor.

I met Monty several years ago and have had the opportunity to hear him speak on 2 or 3 other occasions at events. He is a very humble man who has been able to travel to places and take part in hunts I can only dream about while at the same time maintaining a balance in his family life and running a small tree cutting business.A very entertaining speaker and also a great writer. Some of his stories and the situations he has been in will make the hair on your head stand up.I certainly hope he does that "coffee table" book he was wanting to do.Monty is about living the experiences in his travels and his hunts. Its not about money at all.We are very fortunate to have such a humble God-fearing man in the bow hunting community that is willing to share his stories and experiences with us in live stories as well as the written word.He is very deserving of being inducted into the National Bowhunter Hall of Fame.Truly a great representative for our sport.

I am honored to call Monty "friend", and he is certainly a role model for all bowhunters to follow. Monty's accomplishments go far beyond his bowhunting exploits, his unselfish "giving" of his time to so many fundraisers both in and out of the bowhunting community, or his wonderful writing style. He is first and foremost dedicated to his wife, and a role model for the human race, in my eyes....and an "everymans" bowhunting hero. He has certainly walked with the best of us, and chased the most coveted of trophy animals...and met them on his terms, with simple stick and string. There are few more deserving of this honor, than Monty Browning. - Mark Baker, Livingston, MT

I've spent my share of time laughing at Monty Browning stories (Stupid Hurts!) and conversing with him. We've shared stories and compared notes on many topics. You'll walk many difficult miles before...if...you ever meet another man of Monty's abilities and convictions. I don't think the word "ego" is in his vocabulary, at least when it comes to self-descriptions. The Gentleman Bowhunter to all he meets...The Consummate Bowhunter in the woods.
I've also been fortunate to spend some 'real' time with Monty in Alaska. I've seen him in action there, and shared several campfires. Our friendship is a priceless thing, and I'm looking forward to the next time we stand in a river together.
You can bet that Monty B is Hall Of Fame in my book of great outdoorsmen...not just bowhunters.

I heard Mr. Browning speak at a TBG gathering and have really enjoyed his writings. I think an article written by him about a long trip on a Northern River by himself is one of the best articles I`ve ever read. It has fueled many dreams for me .A Fella that lives Bowhunting like he does should be in the Hall of Fame.RC
All I can say is I agree with what has already been written. Monty Browning is indeed a very inspirational man. His dedication to ethical bow hunting, and drive to help better our hunting life through written and verbal stories indeed make him hall of fame material.

Monty Browning should definately be inducted into the Bowhunter Hall of Fame. Dedication, years, service to the bowhunting community are all there and well documented. Monty is 100% true in the sense of being a dedicated traditional bowhunter as well as a solid faithful husband and a real friend. Monty has also set the example that you can lead an extraordinary life with ordinary means. HE HAS DONE IT! Monty you are my "Brother in Christ" as well as "my brother of the bow" and I look forward to sharing many more campfires with you.

Have never met Mr. Browning in person, but have walked just behind him while climbing many mountains, or strapping into a tree stand in an early morning fog. It seems that there has been many time that i've felt the sweat roll down my face without understanding why while simply reading another Monty Browning high adventure. Others have mentioned the wild hunt on the river, and how it thrill them, but somehow again I was there, experienced the bluff charges of the bear felt the hair rise on the back of my neck and the relief when Monty stood his ground and she turned back. From heavy long bows to his make it happen convictions surely Mr. Browning fits the mode of those that have gone before him and will surely lead others to follow. From the testimonies of those that have already written I have sensed the strength of this humble man, the underlying strength, a man that fears God and loves family will surely be guided in all of life.

I heard Monty for the first time at Cloverdale in 2006 and found him to be a captivating speaker. This year at the KyTradfest I was honored to have him as a supper guest at my camper and got to spend the rest of the Friday evening really getting to know the man. He spent all day Saturday at the shoot and even waited till after the UK vs UL national semifinal basketball game was over to do his talk. He is genuine and never fails to give thanks and praise to Jesus. He has done all the things most of us dream about when it comes to bowhunting and I look foward to someday sharing a campfire with him again. He is very deserving to be in the hall of fame

What is the best way to describe Monty Browning?
Bowhunter of Dangerous Game – Certainly, this is a passion for Monty and a trademark of sorts. Whether it's slipping an arrow through the overlapping ribs of a cape buffalo at 10 yards or killing his world record brown bear at 27 feet...the more dangerous the hunt, the more Monty enjoys it. Monty thrives on bowhunts that the average bowhunter wouldn't even consider. Spending an entire month in the remote Alaskan wilderness brings solitude and comfort to Monty.
Unselfish Mentor – Monty is willing to spend countless hours of his personal time to speak at various bowhunting / charitable functions. He is extremely generous and is always willing to give back to help preserve bowhunting or support a worthwhile cause. Monty was instrumental in helping me fulfill my dream of going on my first unguided Alaskan moose hunt. I will be forever grateful for his unselfish gesture.
Committed Husband – You don't talk to Monty long before hearing about his wife Annie. She is his soul-mate through and through.
Child of God - Monty has some impressive accomplishments as a bowhunter but all of them pale in comparison to what is most important to this man. Monty isn't shy about talking about his faith and I admire him for his convictions.
I've been fortunate to share campfires and stories with Monty in Alaska and I can't wait for our next river-side reunion! Is Monty Browning "Bowhunter Hall of Fame" material? Absolutely...that's my buddy!!
Monty came to Virginia on four different occasions to speak to bowhunting organizations. He was well received at all events. As mentioned by others above, he charged no fee. I was fortunate enough to have him as my house guest on two of those visits and was impressed with his humble behavior. In addition to being an entertaining speaker, he is an execllent writer. His hunting exploits are legendary. I can't think of a better ambassador for bowhunting.

I have never met Mr. Browning but I have dreamed of adventures like the ones he has been kind enough to share with all of us through his writing and speaking endeavors. His accomplishments are achieved through his own dedication and desires, not funded by advertisers or gadget vendors. He is living proof that a man can experience the adventures he dreams of and craves through dedication and preserverance. The recommendations of those who know him speak loudly of his character and faith. To not include Mr. Browning in a bowhunting hall of fame would make me wonder if it was truly a bowhunting hall of fame.
I can think of no one more deserving of this honor than Monty Browning. Every time I see him he treats me like im his best friend in the world. A family man who always puts God first. The man lives bowhunting. If he dont make it in there, no one should.
