just wanted to share with you guys that Amazon has "Hunting with the Bow and Aroww" by Saxton Pope for FREE on the Kindle. picked that up last night. also snagged "The Witchery of Archery" on the Kindle, but that cost me $9.80.
just thought you guys might like to get a great read for FREE!
Cool, thanks for the heads up.
I will check it out. Thanks.
Awesome. My wife might come home to find some new material on her kindle.
Bad thing to hear. I work in a printing plant and the Kindle is slowly taking my job south. Don
FYI, You don't have to have a Kindle to get the books. You can put the Kindle app on an ipad or any laptop and download books. I found this out after I sat on my kindle (don't ask, you'll only do it once) and bought an ipad.
Thanks! I'm reading Game of Thrones on Kindle. Going to add this one next.
Sending it to my kindle now! thanks for the heads up :)
Chaser,
How is the game of thrones?
CANT/SHOOT,
Its a good read so far! The wife and I watch the HBO Series.
I just downloaded the free book by Saxton Pope. Looks like its going to be hard to put down!
CANT/SHOOT,
I read all five in print and really enjoyed them. It is hard to keep up with all the families; who killed who, which alliances were made/broken...and whose child belongs to who! The author has two more books to write in the series and I may have to start again at #1 just to remember all that happened.
G.
Cool. Thanks for the heads up, I will go down load it right now.
I read the "Game of Thrones" series as well and really enjoyed it!
Amazon also has Howard Hill's book on Kindle--Hunting the Hard Way.
Read Pope's book. It was definitely a good read.
Witchery of Archery can be had for free, too. Just not directly from Amazon.
Go Here (http://archive.org/details/witcheryofarcher00thomuoft)
Haven't gotten all the way through it yet though.
Thanks PowDuck! I just copied that to my kindle too.
And if you have a smart phone (iphone or droid) you can download a free kindle app and be able to have the books with you whenever you have your phone.
Great when waiting for your kids to get out of swim practice.
Downloaded both books. Thanks a bunch!
wow, hard to put down, I tried reading "Witchery of Archery", couldn't get into it, but this one is a winner!
And you can read your digital PDF version of the Traditional Bowhunter Magazine in the kindle, not as well as in the Ipad, but its works
Thank you! I downloaded the book last night. IT's been out of print for a long time and I do own a copy but don't like to read it for fear of damaging the book.
Mike
Thank you for the heads up on the free Saxton Pope book for the Kindle.
Seeing as I'm horizontal for the next 1-3 months, is there any other FREE books available on Kindle that is trad archery/hunting available? It would give me something to do to take my mind off wanting to get up.
Thanks in advance guys,
Mike
TTT

a nook is the barnes and noble version of the kindle
Exactly. By default both the kindle and the nook color will only access books by the manufacturer. Nook for Barnes and noble and the kindle can access books on Amazon. You can root/hack either one so they work more like a generic tablet PC. Then you can download books from any service, download apps and even watch movies.

OH! OK.
I maybe getting a Kindle soon, I will send it to you for a root hackin' Steve.
Thanks Men
Don't forget the Kindle app for smartphones, I read Hunting with the Bow and Arrow at camp last bow season along with a couple of great ones written by state game wardens chronicaling their years in the field. I particularly enjoyed "Poacher Wars" by WIlliam Wasserman and though it isn't bowhunting related directly I also really liked "One mans wilderness" Okay, book report over!
Thanks so much. My old paperback wore out a long time ago. So glad to get this. I just got it downloaded. Next to the Bible my favorite book.
God bless you all, Steve

Thanks for the info!

Mike, go to the link I posted on page one. Use their search function and look for hunting, archery, etc. I rarely buy ebooks but have several in my library for free. Teddy Roosevelt's book on Hunting the Grisly is a good one. There are others. When you do your search sort by price low-high and the free ones will pop up first.
Actually, there are several free ones on Kindle, iBooks, and others. They just may not have the pictures. :readit:
I read that the illustrations are not in the Kindle edition, anyone know for sure?
The Kindle does not show illustrations.
