Not sure where this question needs to go but anyway. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to get or what to use for an old Herters bow with the rounded arrow shelf? It had a leather type rest with a plastic tab mounted into the leather. I also know that some had the leather rest with a brush built in also. Just looking for options to replace it that may work since my plastic tab broke off of mine.
Thanks
Bryan
Bryan, I had my Herters for about a month shooting off that plastic rest they had on it, and I loved it. BUT it broke mid shot at a 3D shoot. Long story short is they dont make the thumbnail rest anymore. I went with a Hoyt Hunterrest because that is what was available. Also the Bear Weatherrest is amazing. Either one will work just fine, and bow are about 6 bucks or so.
Also, what Herters are you shooting
So im guessing I need to put it up a little higher above the curve to make it work? The Bear Weatherrest is a good rest but it wont bend around the curve. I do have a new one of those I could try. Just wasnt sure if that would raise it up too high. Im shooting a litte shorty Perfection Sitka 46" 42#.
Yes, mine is above the curve. But I trimmed some off the bottom of the rest to get it a little closer to the shelve
Bryan, has your bow been drilled for the original bristle rest that was inserted into the hole? If so, I have original Herters brush rests.

Nope mine is not drilled for that rest with the brush. Its just the plastic tab with leather. I'll probably have to try the Bear rest or a Para rest unless anyone else knows of something. I wish it was that brush style, but don't want to drill a hole. Thanks for your input so far.
You can install a Flipper or Flipper II rest or just use an old Bear Weatherest. Most of those older bows were drilled and tapped so cushion plunger could also be used.
Well it looks like we try the Bear rest and trim some off. Thanks
