I'm thinking about putting a couple one piece recurves up for sale in the classifieds,but I'm worried about shipping them. What do you use to ship a recurve in? I just got a longbow from Blaino on here. He shiped it wrapped up and in a gray heavy walled(schedule 80?) PVC tube. You could have honestly driven over it with a car and not hurt the bow.
Any ideas on packing the recurves for shipping?

One of the better ideas I have seen for shipping a recurve was using a cardbord tube from a carpet store. Chad Holm of Holm-Made bows uses them. To make it wider, he smashed the tube so looking at the end of the tube it was shaped like a football. Flattening the tube allows more room for the recurved ends. Then he cut some football shaped boards to plug the tube ends. He used a few sheet screws to hold the wooden boards in the tube ends. It made for a very sturdy shipping container!
