In yesterday's area paper on "Hunger Games influence of archery popularity.
I quote..
"an unusual number of young girls have visited the store since the movie came out,(*******) manager said, with an interest in recurve bows,
a type of practice bow not generally used for hunting".
Glad to hear the renewed interest, but :knothead:
HAHA not generally used for hunting; until you use one than you are hooked for life. Well at least speaking for myself.
I shoot longbows but huhhhh!
Did they say the boys came in for longbows...LOL Some just dont understand us.
I always get a kick out of going to a 3-D shoot,I usually get one or more compound shooter ask "you don't hunt with that do you?" I see them take 2-3 min. to take a shot, then I walk up and just shoot.I then ask where they hunt that they can get animals to stand still for so long?
Every time someone asks me about my longbow they are always like; "Yea but no one hunts with those kind of bows"...it is so frustrating man has been taking game with bows less technologically advanced as our "traditional bows" for thousands of years.
Hmmmm!
All this interest is making my GF getting a new bow hard. Everyone is out and every recurve she looks at is on backorder.

Went to my 1st 3D last week and ran into the same thing...While target practicing, I had to wait "Forever" while a compound shooter completed his shot. Man, and to think I was like that...
I no longer try to convince anybody of anything related to archery or bowhinting. If they ask, I will readily discuss my views, but I do not press. However, if somebody shows an interest, I will usually invite them to shoot my bow. Who knows? Maybe in the near future somebody will actually decide to hunt with a recurve again.
Oops, not only do I not try to convince anybody about bowhinting, I don't mess with their bowhunting, either.
