well i had a great morning, had 20 different birds gobbling all around me.well nothing wanted to committ, well about 8 am.i heard a gobble on the next ridge and gave some sweet love songs to him.well about 5 minutes later he is about 45yds out strutting and gobbling, then i hear another bird and he comes to that bird..well they are gobbling and strutting like crazy.well after 20 30 mins they finally start to me,then something weird happened they circle behind my set,i didnt have a window open behind me so i thought the game was over.then i had a stroke of genius,i could fart and they would gobble so i hit the call like no tommorrow, after a few mins.i had a 4 inch crack in the window and a gobbler at full strut at 15yds..well he put himself inbetween to saplings and i only had about a 2 inch hole in the saplings, well i shoot alot and felt comfortable with the situation..made a text book shot,he flapped twice got 3 feet off the ground and flew 20 yards and went down...oh what fun...i got to give magnus a big shout out for the feathers he sent me awhile back...hes posting the picks for me...hope everyone is having a good season...
oh the bird weighed 26lbs.11 inch beard, but only had 22mm.spurs....decided to get a full strut mount done, even though ive killed 12 with my recurve, this one is gonna stay with me...sorry magnus no wings from this one....
Good stuff. Congrats Steve.
