I recently received an older Mamba and was wondering if anyone knows what the bowyer susgest brace height should be or what they have set at.
This is from a Martin recurve/longbow owners manual from 1985.Mamba 58in. 7 1/4 to 7 3/4 from string to deepest part of grip.Mine shoots best for me at 7 1/4.Play around with it some and see what feels best to you.Everybodys different, hope this helps.
Thanks my Grizzly like 8 1/4". I didn't know the bowyers recommendation on the Mamba.
Thanks again, Mike
You can also see the brace height for the 58" Mamba from the Damon Howatt site. The new Mamba's brace height is stated from 7"-7 3/4".

Mine is set at 7 1/2"
Mine liked 7 1/4" before I sold it. Nice bows and very fast. Good luck with yours!
My Mamba is 66", I think, but can't remember the brace ht. Haven't shot it in a long time.
So far this how really likes to be at 7 1/2" and it is way faster than my Grizzly. Thanks for the help everyone!
Mike
It's still at 7 1/4, Steve.
Nice shooting bow. I was impressed of just how nice.
The young man I gave it to, loves it.
