Had a lot of requests over the last few weeks about how I sharpen the 3 blade VPA Broadheads.
So i put together a short video showing how i get them sharp. I like to keep things "simple" and effective. There are lots of other ways to do it but this is the best for me.
I use a 12" Swiss Single Cut file and a Diamond Jewl Stick.
I like to Run the Broadhead over the file rather then the file over the head as it is easier to keep things flat and flush by elimination a bit of human error. If you have a steady hand then you can run the file across the head, but its just more simple this way.
The Quality of the steel really allows you to get an amazing sharp edge on these heads.
So simple Anyone can get them Sharp.

That's the same way that I do it, with the same results. Good video Andy.

That's pretty much how I do it....
Can't wait to try all this. I should have the VPA, the file, and diamond stick waiting for me at the Post Office at week's end.
Great video Andy! Thanks for sharing!
Good one Andy!
Thanks Andy, I'm gona try your method out, since I haven't found "my" method yet. Great video.
Thanks Andy great video. It's amazing how sharp you can get a 3 blade.
That video would go great in the How To section.Simple and very well explained.
Always nice to see another hunter's way of doing things, no matter how similar.
Thanks, great video!
I use the same process just instead of a file, I use a 360 grit diamond stone.
Great video  Very well done :archer:
Good stuff! Same process here but I finish with a wheelie instead of the jewel stick.
 Good stuff Andy.
I love these heads, very high quality.
Nice Job!
Glenn
Thank You Andy......
Much thanks Andy!!!!!!!!!!!
Great stuff Andy !!!

Thanks Andy, now my VPA tipped Kinetics will blow through animals even faster! :)
Good stuff Andy. I do pretty much the same thing with Woodsmans, and it works great on them too. I had seen your reports on the VPA's and plan to switch to them for the fall hunts.
Thanks for the great vid Andy!
Doesn't look like it could get much simpler than that. Thanks for this. I've seen the posts of the hole these heads make and am going to be ordering some soon. I'll get a 12" file while I'm at it.
Thats is a great video That is almost exactly how I have learned works best for me as well.
Thanks for the info!!
I have three 175s that are going to Wyoming with me this fall for Elk. I now have no doubt that they are a wise choice. Medium diamond stone them japanese water stones-600/1200 grit, then stropped on leather.
The other 3 in my quiver will be Zwickey deltas.
Very nice video! I haven't used three bladed heads for over forty years, but I think I'm going to give them a try this fall. I've often wondered about the sharpening method for them. Thanks for sharing!

That's pretty much what I found works, but it took a while to get that first sharpening to take.
Nice patch there. ;)
Mine were the sharpest three blade head out of the package I have ever seen. Didn't take much time at all to make them deadly sharp.
The ones I had were not the KME pre-sharpened. Had to get a good grind going. The new ones look like they will be a lot easier to get there.
These are Vantage Point Archery Heads Limbender... I think you have them confused with the Grizzly's or something else.
These come with a very accurate grind strait out of the packet, plus they are so tough you end up using them again and again.
Nope - I hunt with VPA's and watched your video, but I was wrong that the new ones are KME sharpened - it is the Wensel Woodsman Elites (basically same head) from 3 Rivers that are KME sharpened. Sorry for confusion.
I am a little sharpening challenged, so it took me a while the first go round to get them really sharp, but they are pretty sharp out the box.
I think they fly better than my field points too!
great
thanks for this post andy!
