Does anyone have any suggestions on bear hunting spots? I am looking for a mom and pop type of outfitter. Also, is anyone else as disgusted as I am by the pictures of the hunter standing next to the bear while its hanging next to the outfitters sign?

Mom and Pop may be nice to sit and talk with, but I bet fishing is their main source of income and their core competency (as they say in all the MBA school courses). Bear hunting is their second or third priority to get a few extra $$$ at the end of the fishing season.
Try Ron LaForge at The Bear's Den (www.thebearden.com). He caters to bowhunters, but takes gun hunters out of a separate camp.
Whoever you choose...Good Luck!

Check out Border Country outfitters. We leave on Aug 14th. A good friend of mine went last year and had a great time. He shot a bear. Everyone did, he shoots a longbow. There are 3 of us going this year all shoot recurves.

I know the threat is titled Ontario Bear Hunting, but I know a great outfitter in Manitoba. Sandy River Outfitters www.sandyriveroutfitters.com (http://www.sandyriveroutfitters.com) I have been on 7 bear hunts Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatucan (sp), New Brunswick, Michigan, Minnesota. and Quebec. Sandy River is the only place I would go back to. Its abit pricey though. Around $3000 now.
