I went to Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear today to try out some heavy arrows for a friend.
It was a mistake. I walked out with an ACS CX, 52#@28", 64" long, 7-1/8 Brace height.
I had to do it, since I had a dozen bare shafts that I could tune to fit it. Logical, right? :)
The shafts are Axis ST 300s. With a 2.5" 2016 footer, bare shafts cut to 30.5", I get a back of broadhead length of 30.25". With the Dauntless 265 grain heads, 100 grain threerivers brass inserts and a 1/2" setscrew to complete the adapter they weigh in at 750 grains exactly.
The arrows fly like lasers with 3 2-1/8 shield cut fletches.
Now all I have to do is learn to shoot it.
Love this addiction!!!!
Makes perfect sense to me. I just bough back a recurve that I had traded off. My wife says "how many bows can you shoot at one time?" Told her I wasn't actually sure, but when I reached my limit, I'd let her know!!! Enjoy the new bow. Mike
Eminently practical.
I envy you the uncluttered clarity of your mind.
Killdeer :notworthy:
You gotta do what you gotta do :readit: ....makes sense to me.
That's awesome don, it was good to see you at RMSG today, have fun with the new bow, it's a good one.
Paul
I'm glad you could be there for your friend, uncluttered clarity and all!
I got out of RMSG today for less than $50; I think that is a new record for me! They sure have lots of nice bows, though.
Sounds like a sensible purchase to me.
I know how you feel, I have it bad as well. And the worse thing is, I am not sure there is a cure.
That'll teach ya to go shop for your friends :)
Thank you all for your support.
It crossed my mind that the world might not agree - glad to see I was mistaken! :)

"The world" would NOT... but you are in good company, here! :saywhat:
What no broadheads for the arrows ?! You need to go back and finnish shopping.
One of the greatest crimes against humanity is a set of arrows with no bow to launch them from. Way to work yourself out of a jam. :archer:
Money is specificaly made for buying bows and arrows.
God bless you, Steve
I wish I could think of something witty to say here, but I can't.
Learning to shoot this bow is a humbling experience! :archer2:
