After years of study and practice, equipment changes and form work, today I have achieved a lofty goal: I am in the Duluth MN area and have been involved for the last 5 years with the Duluth City Archery deer hunt. For the last 5 years I have taken the required proficiency test with my compound, as I didn't feel that I was quite ready to attempt it with recurve or longbow..until this year. This very morning, without grand ceremony, I put 4 of 5 arrows into 6" circle to pass the test..with my Toelke Whip "MTB"! My self-proudness level has reached the tip-top as I shall be one of a very few if not the only bowhunter to be hunting with traditional tackle. Just wanted to let you know and say Thanks for the billionth time to all who have helped me to reach this goal.
Next week, I will be questing to take my first traditional harvest, a gobbler with stick and string. If I do so, I will be the one in FULL STRUT!!
Thanks and Best of luck to all!!

Congratulations to you sir! A very proud moment indeed. Good luck with the hunt that you are now qualified for. Strictly for curiosity's sake at what distance was the test administered?
Congrats!!! How far did you have to shoot from?
The test is 20 yards, using the equipment you intend to hunt with and you are required to put4 of 5 into a 6" circle at that distance with field tips. Thank you all and especially to Mr. Moe who helped me greatly with figuring out how to tweak my form for more consistency. I have been practicing what you preach and it has paid off handsomely!
Congrats!
That's awesome man!
That's good to hear Tom, but YOU are the one that was dedicated enough to make it happen! No matter what a coach knows or can teach, it is still the individual that must do the shooting.
Again Congratulations!
congrats
Congrats on setting a goal and accomplishing it.Good luck on the next one
