Not the type I was hoping for, but a first none the less. Nice open field stalk and a perfect shot. Watching that arrow cover 30 yards of open field and slide through like butter was just too cool. His buddy is next.

Had your hot scrapple you left this past weekend
AWESOME stuff bud!
Ray,
You can eat a "whistle pig"!!!!! (they're just a little greasy.)
I'm tryin Ray. You still might see a couple more DE boys before the end of the year.
Self bow
You can eat armadillos too but I think I'd rather eat pork!!:-)
'Dillos are tasty!! 7 different meats in one shell (including pork), everything tastes like chicken-frog legs, rattlesnake, flying squirrel. Florida Crackers will eat most anything!!!
Good deal man. That Aztec looks like a pretty mean head.
Great accomplishment!
Great Shooting!
Good shooting! Great eating too! Bone it out and throw in a crockpot or roast pan with some onions, potatoes, carrots, spices and a can or coke. Delicious!
You have some strange hogs in your country :D
I was anxious to check on my hogs after work last evening. Temps in 40's and breezy is not the best for hunting sod poodles but I went anyway.
I caught a medium sized pig sitting on top of his den at 30yd. We had a stare down and I realized I wasn't getting any closer. I slowly raised my longbow................................slowly drew back to anchor.............................did my best olympic form, release between heartbeats, and smooth follow through.........................and promptly missed wide left! Arrrrrgh!
Man, I love G-hog hunting!
Nice job Kyle, I hunt them up here and know how challenging they are. I eat them too, parboill with 1/4 cup of vinegar if they are real gamey or late season and real fatty. Then grill with BBQ sauce.
More than one person has mentioned eating them. I couldn't get over the smell and flies.

Are you at least gonna save the skin?? :dunno:
Hope you cooked him up. That is some good eats!!!
Good shooting!

Nah...just single bevel!  :knothead: :biglaugh:
"Sod Poodles" [courtesy of Red Beastie] eat well if you get the 6 scent glands off them. One under leg joint area and 2 I found later in life tween the shoulder blades...
Parboil with seasonings and then bred and fry or bake... yum.
Go to the taxidermist and get a full-body mount in an attack posture. Well....on second thought.......

No i second this! :D
Nice shot and stalk! I would love to hunt those critters. I remember they use to den next to my Grandfathers garden and he would do them in with his 22-250. A bow would be cool for those with plenty patience.
Great shot! We used to have a lot of them around here until the coyotes got out of control. Don't see many at all anymore. I honed my hunting skills on them as a kid.
