Title: fletching arrows
Post by: bigwood95 on April 17, 2012, 10:44:00 PM
Hi gang. I'm trying my hand at arrow fletching. I'm useing a helicdal RW natural turkey feather, everything looks good and the feathers are staying put, but after shooting the arrows only a couple of times, the bottom feathers are looking realy beat up.
I'm shooting a 76# fred bear recurve with a raised shelf.
I don't have a lot of expierience with traditional equipment, so I don't know if its the feathers the helical fletch or the raised shelf.
I've put a couple of questions up here before and you guys have been a great help to the newbe
Thanks.

Can you post some pictures of how your rest is setup on your bow and of the fletching of your arrows.

The raised shelf is likely the issue.  Feathers don't typically wear out for me after a ton of shooting off a leather shelf.

Check the height of your nocking point.
