As you can tell by my not so recent posts, I've been out of the trad loop for a little bit. Im starting to get back to it now that I'll finally be settled down in the next month or so. I'm looking to build up a set of arrows for my widow, but its been so long since I built or ordered shafts I dont even know who's around or in the game anymore. Jim Curlee used to be the guy I bought most of them from, but is he still around? Any other good options? Looking for tapered POC.
I get finished POC tapered arrows from Jim Reebok at JM Traditions in PA.
Raptor Archery will fix you right up.
Wapiti archery used to be rouge river for cedar or hildebrand for Sitka spruce. Both are top notch.
Not sure if Twig is still around but they are very good with their wood shafts. Nice and tight spine and weight.
Call Paul Jalon at Elite Arrows. He made me a dozen spined within 3lbs...
He is a sponosr as well, Elite Arrows...
I got some very nice tapered cedar from The Nocking Point. They are sponsor's here
I have got some real nice shafting from hildebran they were good to deal with.I have not tried any others.
Just received some perfect POC compressed/tapered cedar arrows from Wapiti. About 2-3 weeks out on finished arrows was my experience.
Why not taper your own. I built a simple jig for tapering the last 10" and it works great. I have tapered poplar and Doug fir shafts all with good results and it only takes a minute each or less for each shaft.
I'll second The Nocking Point.
I had EXCELLENT results from Ted Fry at Raptor Archery
Nocking Point uses the best shafts for his tapered cedars.
Another vote for Paul Jalon at Elite Arrows...Excellent service!
