Things I learned today...
6 arrows may be enough to have around for a wheel bow, but it is just stupid to think you can learn much on a trad bow with just 6.
An arrow shot from a recurve at 30 yards will give you a complete passthru on the drop spreader positioned behind your target...if you hold your bow hand just a little out of position.
3 arrows in a 3 inch bull at 30 yards feel much more gooder than the same thing from a wheel bow.
I shoot one arrow at a time. You can learn a lot with a little patience
Wow, you ARE a noobie.
Someone with more experience would know that we want pictures of the drop spreader.
Killdeer :bigsmyl:
Yeah, you would think a fellow would post a picture of the first thing he bagged with his new bow.
Donno what I was thinking.
You're learning well Bullie. May your spreader rest in peace.
I killed an antique desk once. Didn't know til I went to retrieve my arrows, from the target, in front of the desk (antique). Then I knew.
Are you going to mount it in your man cave? :biglaugh:
we would require proof of said pass through otherwise it didn't happen

Should have given this spreader a little more time. Would have been a good one next year. But, it is the first thing I bagged with the bow.
I'm thinking euro mount. :bigsmyl:
Bullie, I think you will fit right in with the Gang!
I second the euro mount
now thats better
Now its an aeration seeder.
Good kill shot Brother, Next time though you may want to play the wind better and rethink stand location.
Then what do I know, I haven't been fortunate enough to kill one of those.
Rock walls and stone foundations however,
I have some expertise there.
Welcome aboard :knothead:
If the lawn mower gives you any problems in the future just show it that picture.
Shots like that make for short 'seed trails'!
Welcome to the 'Gang! :campfire: :archer2:
Now you'll never get the yard fertilized, every time that you start to fertilize you'll start think about shooting your bow.
A couple weeks ago I was shooting with my 8 year old son. We decided to shoot the Rinehart ball rolling, nothing like a moving target. Well I thought that he was shooting it a little quick so ole dad had one of his moments. I started swing the ball and let it fly, a little too high. Yep, he was very focused and just missed the ball, the arrow ended up on our roof. I guess we all have our moments, LOL...
My first trad kill was a large Igloo cooler that was sitting just behind my target.
LOL:)
That is awesome :clapper:
I could tell your bow hand was out of position. That would explain why you were not dead center on the Scott's logo!
I think you are well on your way to the back yard superslam!!
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. But, dagnabbit, I have already misled you nice folks. The spreader isn't actually the first thing I bagged with the new bow.
Sadly, I shot my little girl's Barbie Jeep last week. But, the hit wasn't as good and I was a little embarrassed with the shot as a whole, and in particular the penetration. Maybe as I learn to tune things a bit better....
Nice entrance, heck of an exit!!! OBTW welcome, you're gonna fit right in. :bigsmyl: :campfire:
That is classic.glad to see another ms redneck here in the gang. I have harvested a few fences, coolers, chairs, and treesi in my couple of years. Welcome
OOHHh no not one of those Barbie jeeps , man if you don't hit them square in the battery they will run a long ways . I hear they like to charge as well , you got lucky if you made it out of that ok. Drew
Barbie jeeps deserve what they get. Invasive alien species...
Killdeer
Complete pass thru on a spreader is all most unheard of [LOL]. :scared:  :banghead:
LOL nice! Nothing a little duct tape won't fix!
I have also learned that rakes, metal fence posts, shed walls, and cinder blocks tend to shatter and destroy shafts and broadheads. Luckily, I have an arrow maker on speed dial. I tend to just lose arrows rather than destroy them.
Did ya have the barbie jeep scored, they are very hard to kill and a pope&young class would be spectacular!
I actually have not had jeep scored. I don't think we have an official Barbie Jeep scorer here locally.
Being the President and offical scorer for the QSMA (Quality Squirrel Management Association), I know how hard it can be to find a competent measurer. When I was devising the B&S scale, which is the only official squirrel scoring system of which I am aware, I was very careful to make the terms and measurments as easy to understand as possible but my padawan learners have a hard time grasping some of the principles. I say all of that to say this, I am sure Barbie Jeep scoring is highly involved and I wouldn't want to try it myself without training. Heck, I might proclaim myself the world record holder after bagging the biggest Barbie jeep ever, even though I really have no idea how to score one.
BTW, have I mentioned yet that I am the current Squirrel World Record Holder? My monster squirrel was taken in the hills of North Mississippi and scored 1.96 on the B&S scale. He was truly a monster.
now thats some B&S right there
Nothing that a little duct tape won't fix
Bullie, I must humbly disagree with you on the age and as another Mississippian I know my Spreaders and that is a true trophy! Please note picture below as to why I feel this way... :readit:

Well, you may be right South MS. I reckon it is a really nice spreader. It does have some age on it for sure. Reckon it will make the book? I hope so. I sure would like to take a record book specimen so I can wax all eloquent about my shooting skills and have folks just fawning over me at picture signings and such.
Very nice bow.
I hope it is Converml. I am trying to learn how to use it. I don't know much about these bows but it feels like a pretty good place to start. You see the holes in the riser? What kind of quiver is designed to fit those do you think?
Honestly, for a noob I'm impressed.
I think this might be the first pass thru by Texas heartshot I've seen. Like a head on, entirely unethical, yet he's proof as to effectiveness
Welcome aboard
Ever the Overachiever!!
;)
This site sure supplies my daily laughs!
I saw the high fence in the background....hardly fair chase
Any other non game species kills out there?

What quiver ARE those holes spaced for? New Bear? Do we have a P&Y tape handy for a numerical value? I would figure that after the bagging of this trophy that you would have bought an official tape measure.
Killdeer
I have asked about those holes myself... they came with the bow.
I should probably make up my own measuring system if I am gonna be the recognized leader in trophy spreader arena.
Bullie, *ahem*, that is why I reposted your pics. I thought your question about the proper quiver had been overlooked.
The spacing appears to be much like that on newer Bear bows. A measurement will prompt a response from owners of such bows. Or else. :scared:
Man! You tradgangers are super sharp. Didn't even come close to catching where you were going with that til you tipped me off.
My pics are oversize? Well you should see... Oh!! You meant the pics of my trophy spreader. Just to show detail and exit holes and such.
The holes are 11 3/8 apart. I have no ideas on the size.
Pics, not pecs.
:biglaugh:
You know us Mississippi folks ain't the best readers. Thanks for understanding.
BS meter goes off when I see that you spell "ain't" correctly. :goldtooth:
Oh, we'uns is good spellers. We just are ilit..ilett...ilitt..ilillar.... we can't read.
The driveshaft gear restriction is direct evidence of hobble on this poor Basic Service Spreader. GSC's personal P&Y definition must therefore disqualify your attempt. Current world class record BS Spreader belongs to a coop in Washington.
