Anybody use dental-floss for a stringnock? If so what kind of glue do you put on it?Put on on my bowstring tonite and used a dab of barge cement.
What is your comment??
Barge cement probably wont work, CYA(crazy glue) may be better. In the How To section is a tie along about it.
Tim, I put a dab of superglue on the knot. seems to be enough.
I have some very runny superglue, I dont use because I am afraid it will get down to the string.
I just use my b-50 string material and some duco. I would use dental but I like the color choices from the b-50
I use an old bowstring piece to tie the knot. Then I burn the ends and don't do anything about glue. They seem to hold fine.
Trouble I'm having is getting strings w/mono serving which allows the nock to be screwed up and down.
I use dloss for a top nock and bottom nock. I coat the nocks with super glue. Works great
x2 for b50 with superglue..works great
Love two nocks with dental floss and super glue. My super glue has a brush applicator (like nail polish) and you only need a light brush stroke. Also, the floss I use is bright green and really easy to see...I like that.
Floss and crazy glue.
Here is a link for a tie on from the how to archives. Just click on the photo and you'll go to the video.

been using floss since the 60's. I cover with bow wax and very carefully put a match under it to melt the wax into the floss. Just have to redo this once in awhile.
Floss and glue.
Done deal!

Also, if my string serving is a little skinny, I just use some of the flat dental floss to beef up the serving.
Arrow nocks just get a nice snugged fit and the floss is slippery, letting the arrow fly smoothly upon release.
Gotta love the floss!

Floss and super glue for me as well.
I don't care for floss as a nock set. I do use it quite regularly however if I need to build up the string slightly in order to make a nock fit correctly.
Dental floss, my Dad started using that in the early 70's with Fletch-Tite added as you wrap the nock on...Holds extremely well...never had one unravel yet!
I use unwaxed great stuff.
No, wears out too fast. I use string material.
ONLY if in a Pinch!
Lots of materials work for nock points...bowstring, thread, butcher's string, floss, tape, even electrician's shrinkwrap so I've heard. One of the most convenient and surprisingly effective materials is regular masking tape. It's cheap, can be cut to any width/length, wraps on securely and quickly, has 'soft' edges to hold but not crimp the arrow nock, lasts quite well, can be removed quickly and can even be 'custom-colored' if so desired(Magic Marker). Very handy for tuning arrows to bows.
I recently used dental floss as the nock point and I can honestly say that I like using B50 way better. The floss seemed far less secure. As far as glue, I never use it and I've never had a problem just burning the knot ends.
I use Johnson & Johnson waxed Dentotape. Didn't watch the video, but I tie a 1/2 knot top and bottom about a 1/8" wide and them reverse back to the top. Tie a square knot and clip the tag ends 1/4" long. Melt them with a match and I'm good to go. Much better than the brass nock sets that will tear up a good leather glove in no time.

floss an just burn the ends
floss an just burn the ends works great
no4 serving for me and CA glue
X2 What Ric said
I use J&J Total Care. It is stretchy and tightens up on the string better than ordinary floss and I don't even have to melt the end. I choose not to add anything to it. Someone out there is going to agree with me on how much better this is than standard floss.
