Title: Antler limb bolts
Post by: del on April 12, 2012, 05:54:00 PM
I am going to try to make some for my Quinn Stallion.  Anyone have any pointers or any guidance on how they are done?  what kind of glue do I use to glue to the knob?  What kind of finish? poloyurethane? Varnish??   Do I put the skull side of the burr in or out or does it matter? I got some big nasty burrs off of a nice 8 point I killed a long time ago that I am planning on using. Thanks for yall's time.  ><> del  :campfire:

The "skull side out" is most common. I cut the antler side fat and drilled a counter hole, filled with a strong two part epoxy, set the bolt in flush with the antler, and then a plastic washer to protect the bow finish.    I followed a "How To" in here but I don't recall who posted it.

There was a how to in a TBM, don't remember the year or month. JB Weld was used.
