Well I am struggling with sizing still. I really don't want to get it to big or small. (I want to get it right the first time)
Guide Jacket and 185 base layer
My sizes read
Loose measure Tight measure
Chest 110 100
Waist 100 91
Hip 108 105
Sleeve 94 90
I don't want a bunch of extra fabric in the sleeve or front as my primary use is Recurve bow hunting. They say order the Jacket and shirts(base layers) in the same size as they are meant to fit together as a layering outfit. I want this for mid temp hunting (mountain hunting), I have warm and cold weather gear I will use for other hunting.
Everybody says go big but I look at the sizing chart and going big would give me too much fabric in the arms and possibly around the chest.
With my Attack Pant and 185 base layer I ordered a size larger then normal and they fit perfect. With the Guide Jacket I needed my normal size. That is just how it fit for me. I know you said you dont want to but you can always exchange them if one doesnt fit perfect.
Thanks Jesse
Shipping is really expensive just to get it here, so trying to avoid any returns.
My attach pants are 36's and I usually take 34 or 36's depending on style and they fit great. I have several soft shells from different companies (the sizing really vary's anywhere from Med. to Xl but just tried on to fit without worrying about size which I can do with these.
Probably a large top for you. I have a large spindrift, and it fits great, the only extra is around the waist and that isn't too much. My chest is in the mid-forties, waist in the low thirties (in inches), and around a 35 sleeve.
FWIW, I have a 46" chest, 34" waist. I wear the 34" attack pants, fit great. I have size Large in the merino tops, guide vest and spindrift jacket. I have a size XL in the guide jacket just for a bit more room when wearing layers. Perfect setup for me. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me a pm.
I'd have a tailor take my measurement, fax them to the vendors of choice and see what they can recommend, too
