My son and his buddy got out Friday night and bowfished. Our season opener changed to April 1st this year and included bullheads as an additional specie to shoot. This was their second time out. My son shoots an older Bear and his buddy shot my Zipper nicknamed Black Beauty. They had a blast in the rain and the dark(young guys forget to top off the generator sometimes :D )

COOL STUFF!
We got to git out man.
Yes sir,
CTT
Way cool!
The bullhead filets are in the freezer and the dogfish are in the ground. They missed a big carp and saw a large northern pike and walleye. Bowfishing is just way too much fun!

Nice job!!!!!! hoping to get out this weekend with the bow and spear
KH, nope! Maybe next weekend. :D Takes the boy forever to get up and clean out the boat!

Looks like a great Time.!

Bullheads must be a tough target.....well done!
Congrats
Nice! Them choupique (dogfish) are better eating then them bullheads!!!
 :archer2:
Charlie, that boy uses the gaff every trip! Either putting them in the boat, or taking them out. That is a tremendous tool on our bowfishing boat. I'd like to hear about dogfish recipes. We shoot a bunch of those. Only ate them once!!!
Nice shooting
Awesome stuff, great job guys!!! J
Those Bullheads are great eaters!!!! just about as good as Bluegill and Crappie fillets.Great pics and a great hunt. Congrats!!!
My boy is headed out again tonight. Bringing a much prettier bowfishing partner this time! That's my boy! :D
Oh brother,
Well, did he get any fishing done last night?
Good times right there!!

WHAT NO BULLHEADS?
nice lookin mess of dogfish though
No bullheads this time. I'm putting pressure on the boy now. Break his college's pole vault record or no bowfishing until summer break! :D And I KNOW his friends wants to go again!
The owlbait bowfishing team made it out last night. KHalverson, his son Damien, and owlbait shot 17 fish(2 carp, 15 dogfish). Owlbait-2 KH-4 DH-11! The young guy was on fire. When I told him how great he was shooting he replied," I wish I could say the same for you!" :D We were going to call him Deep Holes because that's what he needs to dig when he shoots this well. Like my son though, he wasn't available when digging chores came up! Smart kids. Should have some pics later.
"Owlbait-2 KH-4 DH-11! The young guy was on fire. When I told him how great he was shooting he replied," I wish I could say the same for you!" :clapper: That young man has been spending too much time around YOU! :biglaugh:
Bill
That's for sure Bill. His day away from school last year will attest to that!

That's KHalverson, owlbait and grandson, and our haul from last night. The gaff is a St. Jude's contribution from Cyclic-River(Charlie). Thanks for looking.
Boy you guys sure have a lot of dog fish over that way. Congrats on the fun!
Those dog fish look like snake heads. Is it the same thing? I don't have any fish like that by me.

That's way cool. As for the pole vault record remember Mr. Miagi says 'whole life must have balance'.....looks like he's there. Congratulations.
Jerry, they are built somewhat similar to the snakehead. These fish are tough, and eat a lot of panfish and gamefish. Somewhat prehistoric.
