That is called "Theft by Conversion" in most states. File a police report and swear out a warrant. If your residence is outside the US, call the local jurisdiction in which the perpetrator lives, and you can file a report by phone. Who cashed your check? or received the money order? If it was by credit card, notify their fraud division. Dont let someone walk with your money.
