I have tried shooting lefty a few times, and I know I can do it since I do a few other things lefty like writing etc. I started with a little bow and had some success. Well, this past year I had a double shelf bow made which I hunted with all year (right handed 55#@28"). Now the spring shoots are coming up and I want to be ready for them with the ability to shoot lefty. I have been shooting pretty regular this past week lefty and my wrist and shoulders are really feeling it. The good side is that I am left eye dominate and my shots, though a little weak, are lined up real nice and I am now hitting every other shot in the bull's eye! I am not used to the site picture yet, but this whole process seems to be forcing me to re-learn good form habits. I am also having a new mental experience with instinctive shooting that I can't explain. Just thought I would share. If any one wants to share similar experience or give some input, feel free.
Always glad to see another lefty shooter. Good luck, Jerry.
i have had similar experiences with shooting left handed. on occasion i have made attempts shooting selfbows left handed. most of the selfbows i have shot, do not have an arrow shelf, they have been a shoot off the knuckle style bows. it seems to me the bows i have shot didn't affect arrow flight as long as the arrows were properly spined. that being said, its just a matter of developing proper form, and learning your site picture, and getting your left eye to learn your arrow flight. making the transition to shooting left handed does take work.im thinking about making this transition myself. rv
I tried it one turkey season when id injured my shoulder and shot rather well. Have considered going that route, and might one of these days...
Had to swap to lefty due to a birth defect in my right shoulder. Seems to work well for me even though I am right eye dominant.
Good luck Jerry. My buddy Joe Skipp is shooting lefty now too and doing well with it.

I shot right handed but I'm left eye dominate. I have thought about trying a dual shelf bow to try to shoot lefty! I think a dual shelf bow and the ability to shoot either hand could be very handy in a lot of hunting situations!
I made the switch about three years ago. Right handed, but left eyed. Liked it from the start and wouldn't go back.
