Last year was the 1st 1300 miles[N.C.to Polk county, Florida and return]. Upon arrival, I received a call from home that a family member had passed away and I immediatly had to return. The owner of the ranch,Bill Whidden told me I could come back this year at no charge.
A beauty! Congrats! Sorry that the first hunt was interrupted by a death of someone close but the wait probably made this bird even sweeter.
Great success photo Charles, but we do need the story to go with it!
Congratulations!
Congrats!
Good to have chatted albeit briefly and congrats a 2nd time!
You are one turkey hunting addict for sure, Charles! You need a Rio to go with that now! :)
Very nice Charles. Hope to see you next Saturday at our CTA club shoot.

Osceola Country
I left home last Fri. at 4:00 am and arrived at the property around 3:30 pm. Mr Whidden was out of town but told me the gate codes and a couple of places to check out. By the way, I had posted on TG in winter of 2010 for info and TG member Earl J Thomas referred me to this place
Congrats on the bird beautiful. And looks like great country to be at.
Very cool Nice Bird man

This is the 2nd spot Bill had told me about and there were a zillion turkey tracks in the sand. It was the NW corner of the ranch and was definatly a travel area for the turkeys moving from ranch to ranch. I made two trips back to my vehicle and had my blind set up at 5:30 PM with my decoy Hazel, 7 yds from my blind, smack in the middle of the trail

Here's a view of my blind as seen from my decoy. I had not taken the time to brush it.
I had just sanded my slate call and laid it down when i realized there were 2 hens and a jake at my blind. As I reached for my bow I saw a tom in 1/2 strut come in to view,my arrow took him in the thigh as he was quartering away and went on into the vitals. he was able to hobble about 15yds and went down without flopping. This was my 1st kill with a silver flame. My Osceola hunt was over in less than 10 mins.
Sweet...nice bird.
Awesome! I love it when a plan comes together. Now you have time for some hog hunting.
Darren
Congrats!! Nice bird.

Charles, That's just plain awesome that this hunt worked out so well for you!
An Osceola with your bow...WOW...not sure it gets any better than that! :notworthy:
