looks like i will have a small party of Tradgangers hitting the mountain with me for the first weekend of turkey season. i know myself and Adirondackman are definitely in and i believe 3Feathers and even FrenchyManny might be there too! there is some INCREDIBLE sign on the mountain right now. last years turkey numbers were the best i EVER remember combined with the easy winter and your looking at RIDICULOUS numbers!!! scouted last week and was blown away. its going to be a looooooong wait!
Good luck up there guys!
Good luck and enjoy yourselves!
Good luck on your hunt.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Good luck to you all. I was in the woods this morning and didn't hear a peep till little after 8:30 when the sky cleared up. One was going back and fourth on the next ridge over gobbling his head off for at least an hr...was still at it when I left.
Got about 10 days here.
Good luck may the arrows and feathers fly.
Those birds won't be the only TURKEYS on that mountain!
Have fun guys... take pics!

Good luck Ken, hope you guys have the hunt of your lives. Nice time of the year to be in the woods. Our season starts May 1st down state.I heard a gobbler behind my house a week ago. Always a fun bird to hunt I'll be hunting once again- ye ha.
Good Luck Guys.RC
If you guys come a little South let me know. We got some slobs on this Mountain but they tough. Had a mild Winter and saw a good flock of Jakes and Jennies in October. Im goin after them K-Mag in hand! Wish I could go up where you guys are im a pretty good caller ive hung with Jim Pollard when I was 12, along with him and my Uncle helping me I could sound about like any hen you want :)
adkmountainken and the rest of you folks, Do not know about your regions with a month of such summer weather here the birds are mating and some are on nests. It seems as by the time season starts there will be molts and the birds will be back in bachelor/social groups and have to have a different strategy. Good luck
Hope your hunt is full of the best of times.
Nick,
It would be nice to meet you!
Mark,
You may be right.
Our season is May 1st through the 30th. its usually a little late for the start of turkey breeding season. Our weather is quite warm here as well, so only time will tell.
Cyclic likewise! I need some TGers up here got a cabin and firepit begging to be used!
The birds are almost nonexistent around here any more.
although the breeding will be a LOT earlier then normal this is by far the most turkeys i have ever saw in that area. there will be opportunitys by sheer numbers alone and knowing where the strut zones and feeding areas are, i feel confident at a shot. the worst thing that could happen is a great time in the woods among friends and a stump shoot brakes out!
My turkey hunting usually ends up being a stump shoot too, Ken. Great fun!
If you have the room, I would like to join in.
I would like to get another chance on that mountain.
Good luck to everybody that gets to go on the trip! Post some pics for those of us that can't make it. :campfire:
Whats the particulars of this hunt, one day or more?
I hate turkeys , just sayin
well it started out as i thougt just a few would be interested but looks like a LOT of interest. i need to talk with John (Adirondackman) and get his thoughts. there are 2 GREAT spots to hunt it on and now maybe i am thinking 1 caller and two shooters to those spots which would allow 6 hunters. there is another spot i have in mind two but need to scout it better. i will be hunting every weekend, the first weekend definitly with bow but after that i'm not sure.
