In response to the emails about the performance of my new Fedora, I'll share my month long shooting.
Again, the specs are 60" 52# at 27". This bow loves heavy arrows. My range for this bow will be 30 yds maximum. Seriously, the bow is that quick with the Dacron string. For some testing, my hunting buddy Bamboo is making me a 450+ FF...but I'm sticking with Dacron.
The bow is very quiet, loads up early but pulls smooth when I reach my full draw. The limbs are Bamboo and bomb proof. I've decided to shoot my barrel tapered ash out of this bow. They are spined 55-60# and weigh in at 585-590 grains.
My lighter 2117's (525 grains) rocket out. The heavier ash, at 20 yds fly just as quick also. There is no arc....flat out to 20. At 30 yds...I aim a tad higher and the trajectory is excellent and penetration of the heavier shafts considerable noticeable. Great energy transfer from limbs to arrow.
Finally took some 600 grain AD Trad Lites. I have 255 grains up front. Not sure what to expect, but the flight characteristics and penetration very close to the ash. Excellent penetration at the longer distance, like ash, will pass through anything I hit close.
This Fedora H560 one piece is the real deal. A well made, no nonsense hunting bow(at least my vanilla bow is) that will withstand the abuse you dish out and still be reliable. This bow will handle the heavy arrows just as well as the lighter ones. Really put them out there with authority.
Now that I'm shooting both RH and LH...maybe I can get Curt over here so I can shoot his new Kempf Raven and he can fling some shafts from my Fedora. I will say this, in all honesty...if Jack Kempf built a one piece recurve along the lines of the Stealth T/D....I would be shooting a LH Kempf today. I just love one piece recurves for whitetails....and this Fedora has opened up my eyes.

How does it compare to your Groves?
Wow Joe, I pity the quarry that steps within your 30 yard radius! Nice bow & review, thanks kindly!
Nice bow, Joe. I should be receiving a takedown 560 early next week that I traded a schulz trophy hunter for. Hope I like it as much as you like yours.
love my Fedora !
Fedora's rock!
Bill...you have a PM. To answer your question here, Groves is 57# compared to 52# Fedora. I found one common factor between both bows.
They both handle heavy arrows very well, especially at the longer distances. Each bow has it's own qualities that I like, grip, design etc. The Fedora limbs are tough...the one lam Groves limb can easily twist but I've beaten this bow up and it's still standing.
Right now, the Groves will be on back burner. This year I have the Fedora and Kempf longbow to chase critters around with. Spring turkey....in a few weeks!
GREAT CHOICE and very nice bow LOVE my Fedora !!!!! Like the heavy wood arrows also !!! Best of luck with it !!!!
I have a 560 LH with the same specs as Joes. After I saw the pic I had to run and make sure mine was still on my bow rack. It is my go to bow and can handle abuse. I have to concur with Joes findings and Mike Fedora is a pleasure to work with.
Hey Joe, I bet that bow gets blood on it before to long. Wish you were down here I killed a big
gobbler yesterday.
Good luck buddy,
Randy
Nice bow Joe! I'd love to bring my new up for you to shoot buddy, and I'd sure like to shoot your new Fedora.
Nice Bow Joe!
Why dont you bring it out to play sometime.... :readit:
all work and no play...... ;)
Hey Charlie...I do play...in the woods and backyard..LOL
My days off are mid week...Wed/Thur/Fri and every other Sat. I don't shoot 3D or compete. Just roving around shooting stumps, clumps or whatever crosses our path.
Spring turkey in May...Bass in June...Deer in September. Besides, Ciccone never invites me up to his weekend get-a-ways...sez I cause too much trouble... :dunno:
Nice looking bow Joe.Looks like a real hunter.
Glad to see its working out
Looks good Joe. Thanks for the update. Let us know how turkey season goes.
Billy
Good luck with the turkeys!
I was tempted to buy that all maple 560 on the classifieds recently. I just can't do it now. My 560 TD with the HP limbs is quiet like a longbow.
Like Joe said....."They are the real deal".....I love mine and it's the only bow I own and see no reason for another...........IJ
Very nice Joe!! :archer2:
