Could that be Ron from KME ?
Ron can run but he can't hide.
Looks like he's got his work cut out for him. :biglaugh:
That was quick!
I sent these Grizzly broadheads to Ron in two separate boxes. Both weighed about 35# and had several coats of reinforced tape on them. Somehow both boxes were damaged bad enough to spill broadheads at the USPS sorting area. The folks at USPS not only picked up the heads but reboxed them and sent them on to Ron. He has even gotten a couple of bags of heads 3 days after the boxes arrived. So I guess they are still finding broadheads.
I know it's easy to complain about the Post Office but I gotta say THANK YOU U.S.P.S.!!! It would have been very easy for them to just shove them in the trash and forget about it. All but about 400 broadheads made it to KME.
Now the down side is when they were reboxed the heads were thrown in loose. When they arrived at KME the only thing with any paint on it was the inside of the box. That's why Ron has them all spread out. Instead of sending them back to me to repaint Ron took care of it himself. How's that for service! :notworthy:
Bill
Sharpster, stop messing around and get those angles ground. We are waiting, need them for turkey season!!!
This is what make some guys GREATS! :clapper:
Lookin good!
That's an awesome pic!
HA....Finally a pic of someone watching paint dry!!!
It looks like Ron ordered a lot of heads for turkey season.
Would someone tell me what brand those broadheads are pls
Tks..... Norm
For those of us who are "sharpening challenged" that picture would be a nightmare!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Nice tale... Good to see Ron at work!! :)

They are Grizzly broadheads, now owned by Zipper Bows.Ron at KME is doing the beveling and sharpening.
Nice weekend project!
NO wonder I've not gotten any return calls or email replies!
I sure as heck hope that get up wasn't his "paint respirator".
"ONLY lost 400 heads?"
And that is a coup? Gawd! Us old folks remember better times and service from all the shippers, USPS, UPS...there'd have been someone on upaid overtime handling all that mess! Till it was RIGHT!
Course, back then even the gubbibmnt was accountable!
So...Did Ron count them or the Post Office :bigsmyl:
Cool picture!

Looks like he's trying to keep them all for himself!
Thanks Jim. Thought so but couldn't find any on the Zipper web site...
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
"Watching the paint dry' that is funny. :)
What is even just as funny is that Ron stood in one spot long enough to have a picture taken!
Bill ,you are right about Ron,not many would go the extra mile :clapper:
:biglaugh: Good one Terry!
After looking over the grinding equipment we have and knowing the grind on the Grizzly heads needed improvement. It was an easy decision. CALL RON!It was also obviously the right decision. :D
Bill
I wish we could have got a pic of all of the BHDs. The picture only shows about 25% of them. (all 160 gr.) Every flat surface we have in the shop was covered in Grizzly BHDs. It was really something to see and we couldn't resist taking a couple pics. To echo Bill's thoughts... Kudos to the US Postal Service! It looks like both boxes busted open and rather than just toss everything (like some other carriers would have) the Postal employees gathered up as many as possible, rebagged and reboxed them and sent them on to me. We continue to receive small envelopes with 25-30 heads each every couple days. Someone asked who counted them... the answer is no-one. We just weighed the bags and divided the total weight by the individual BHD weight to get a rough idea how many there were. As for me going the extra mile... I don't quite see it that way. It would have cost another $120 to ship them back to Zipper and then back to us again, not to mention the time loss this would have incurred. Painting them ourselves was just the simplest solution and the fastest way to get them out to everyone who's waiting for them. BTW, the grind we're putting on them is far superior to the old grind and these are very easy to finish sharpening up. Thanks everyone. We'll get them out ASAP!
Ron
Ron can sharpen a mashed potato sandwich. I can't wait to get some of these heads.
Where do you get enough hair to see if they are sharp?

I'll bet every stray animal in the area has bald spots! :biglaugh:
Seriously though, Ron is doing the initial grind.Grizzly broadheads do not come ready to hunt sharp. Not yet any way.
Bill
Don't suppose they could be sold unground for bargin basement prices!??
What do ya think guys?
Norm from Canuckistan
he should give out free hair cuts to see if they are sharp or not
Sorry Norm, but they will be ground before they are sold. It never hurts to ask though.
Bill
Very nice gesture Ron!

All but 400 made it? That means you lost 400 heads...@ even $5 ea.( I know they are more than that) that's like $2K :scared:
I would be complaining!
Aside from that...glad to see Ron getting those heads hunting sharp...about to make lots of trad guys happy!

Being how hard a steel Griz was/is, setting the right bevel was very challenging for many people! I'm reading Bill to say that KME is going to get the bevel set so that they can be easily touched up to a finished edge by the run-of-the-mill Klutz like me, Past President and Founder of "Can't Sharpen ShiX$ Int'l"
(Until I got a KME and some loving tutoring from Ron!)
