I recieved her last thursday but didnt have access to a camera.....i knew people would gripe at me wanting to see pictures so i waited until today!!!
She is 68" 51# @ 28" and is chechen, action boo core and yew.....and look at those tips!!! and of course the Berry Bug!!!
The trapizode on the belly is amazing....i have never shot one with this before....I havent run her through a chrono but she sure spits them out smoothly!
This has got to be the best longbow i have ever owned....as my wife said...you must really like that new bow because you have been shooting it everyday :D
I can not thank JD enough for building me this gorgeous bow! JD you are one true artist!!!

OH Yeah thats a beaut!!!
Nice!!
Very, very nice!!!!
Beautiful Lance!
Thanks everyone! When i talked to JD i told him i wasnt really into the real fancy woods and wanted a more plain one....but with the yew on it .... It is gorgeous!
And the best thing? This bow makes me want to shoot it! Each day i find myself going out to the back yard to shoot, even if it is just for 30 min. There is just something different about it than any other longbow i have owned.
:archer2:
Lance
I love the wood choices, and the nocks are cool. Thanks for the pics.
Leland
Well Lance when James brought that bow to the morning coffee table and showed me. I took one look at the face and back of it and wanted that bow. It has my favorite woods,I just love yew with knots. So I tried to talk James into saying he lost it, but he wouldn't go for it, lol. Happy shooting Lance.
Thats ok, if i had coffee with him i know i would be doing the same! And probably with every bow he built. :archer:
Just got my vixen 2 weeks ago chichen riser boo limbs and I think the notted yew on mine is the other side of yours.send me your email and Ill show you.LOL Aloha Ron
very nice bow , love those tips
Aloha Ron!!! James has nothing but good things to say about his Vixens!!!
Well I ordered an Argos... Straight grip as James straight grip is just majical, so I am wondering how's the Argos still doing for ya!! Anyone else have an Argos out there?
Well, you have heard from me before, so I am old news but I love my Argos. 48@28, 66", yew veneers, Bamboo cores, Wenge riser. It likes the GT 3555's.
Missed a deer with it this year (pick a spot! LOL)... next year I will get one!
You won't be sorry you ordered an Argos!
JW
And a gorgeous one it is!!!
I can't stop shooting my Vixen........ until I remember I still have an old Serpentine (a little too heavy for me now (68# at my draw)..... now you guys are making me want an Argos :-)
I am actually taking my vixen to Rick Welch's class in a few weeks.... can't wait to see how this bow performs after as I am already shooting better than I ever have and my form leaves something to be desired :-)
Dave,
That is exciting that yiu are going to Rick Welch. Id love to attend. Glad to hear you are loving the Vixen too.
I (and James) don't know why I don't order another vixen as I don't shoot any other bow anyway but I just want to try the Argos.
And If you ever think about parting with that serpentine, keep me in mind :)
Will do Brian, but I can't imagine parting with this bow as I have too many memories with the serpentine. One for instance is my first bear kill. I stalked a med blackie up in the Selway area in MT and placed an ash shaft right through the goodie box at 5 yards..... I stalked that bear three times and didn't realize how close I was.... the bear turned the bow came up and the arrow was gone. I am just glad he decided not to turn towards me and just bolted up the bank.
Or there was the time when a buck I'd been chasing for two years..................
My bows are like a good hound dog, can't seem to part with them even in their twlight hours :-)
Dave,
Thanks for that story!! Sounds like it was very exciting. I can see why you wouldn't want to part with them!
Yes. JD does it again!
Beautiful yew, I can't wait to get me an Argos.
Marco
We need more photos from other Argos owners!! Not very many I have found through searches. I love the look of these longbows, very nice lines!
I miss my argos so much. One of the few bows i would want back after sellin. And would still have it if i wouldnt have needed the money desperately. 68" all yew cores purple heart riser 48@28. Smoothest bow ever. Luckily i still have 3 berrys to call mine. 66" vixen 66" mistydawn 66" taipan. Been shooting straight end bows for about 5 years now and the vixen and misty dawn are awesome. My vixen is my go to bow and has been for several years. Wish i had pics of my argos still ,it was a great lookin bow and shot even better. Still kicking myself for that one
Here's a couple of pics of mine.

Mods... I swear I resized these on Photo Bucket... Not sure why they came out so big??!! Bummer. :banghead: Please delete if need be.
Jerry,
That bow just screams, "Im a shooter" I love it
She sure is! And here's the deal, I just recently found that this bow really loves the heavier arrows so I put weight tubes in my GT 3555 carbons and run an arrow that is around 550 grains... man the whole set-up is dead quiet and I just love the positive "thud" when they hits the target at high speed!
I bet it does!!!! Rockin the target with that
Yes your bow becomes like a close friend. All of the tournaments I went to he was right there with me. All of the miles I've walked hunting, he was right there with me, even if I did have to carry him, lol. But when it came time to make that one perfect shot on a elk or deer he was there for me. So when he's old and tired he will not be sold or put down in the basement. He will be right there with me hanging on the wall.
