Heinz Hoffmann, an Austrian military camera man, for usually filming rifle bullets and explosives, did me the favor and made that movie for me. Enjoy!
Hello Peter. I will be watching this video over again - it is interesting. Thank you for posting it for us.
Thanks, Ray! In fact, in the high speed takes it's a Howard Hill longbow, but I shot a lot with a Sunset Hill longbow, "White Eagle" with white glass for backing, in the full clip, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivb6RWJVGh4. Best to You! :)
that was awesome thanks for sharing!!!!!!
I watched it on the Hill thread and all I can say is....How cool is this?... Way!!!!!! ...I'm saying.
Thank you Peter!

Very Cool!!
I can now see why shafts tapered 9" or so on the nock end would be helpful!
Great video!!! Great music!!! Great shooting!!!
After a long day of "honey do's" thats just what I needed. :notworthy:
Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting music. I like stuff like that. Combined with the shooting & it was awesome! Thanks
That is awesome, Peter! Thanks for sharing!
Many Thanks!! It was fun shooting for that clip. Best to You!
Very neat, thanks.
Very cool Peter
Very enjoyable. Some very cool shot setups.
I believe the same cameraman also did Daniel's (Yononindo) slow motion shots for his paradox videos.
Very cool, his pointer finger must be like leather after all those fletchings making contact.
Thats a great clip nice music and what perfect shooting form!!!
Thanks! No, I have in fact no extra hard index finger leather... :)
Thanks thats such a cool clip!!
That was awesome Peter.
If you notice, there is a slow move forward of the arrow then faster move forward in some of the sequences. I thought was interesting. At first I thought it was adjustment at the anchor with a little let down. As I looked at later shots, it was the actual release if the arrow as the string rolls off the fingers. When the string if fully released the arrow moves faster.
I also thought the first arrow showed very little paradox at release. Those are well tuned arrows and a great release.
I will be watching this over and over.
Thanks for posting.
Martin
Excellent form and a rock solid bow arm..
As usual, great stuff Peter!!! Your passion is quite inspiring!
Excellent videos! Thank you!
Many thanks folks!! In fact, the arrows are on the stiff side. The bow is 50 #, and the 23/64" cedar arrows are spined 65 to 69 lbs. I use heavy, 145 to 160 gr. points, I suspect that combo, together with large 5 1/2" fletch, is the key for the proper launching of the arrows.
mmisciag, yes, I also looked on that, and thought it is a creeping release, then I realized the same, the arrow idles when the string has finished rolling over the fingertips.
Really neat stuff
Great video, wish I could come close to that shooting form
Thanks folks! On that one, you can watch a Sunset Hill longbow at work. "White Eagle", 67" 61@27" by Nate Steen. He named it to honor Howard Hill's show longbow. A great bow! The black backed longbow is the Howard Hill by Caig Ekin, same like in the slow motion clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivb6RWJVGh4&feature=plcp&context=C451fe2dVDvjVQa1PpcFNxX7l6QPWVtdm-jgzMl-6EbbhyS8acQXc=
Here some more fun with longbow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cz4xox9QCA

Nice video Peter, thanks for posting! Ted Fry at Raptor Archery turned me on to your book 'Legends In Archery' which is a very good read as well, I recommend it to anyone interested in the history of modern archery.
Thank you,
Brad
That's great stuff right there Peter! I enjoyed it very much, thanks for putting it together and sharing!
Many thanks friends! Thanks, Brad for compliments! It was a special feeling, for an Austrian to write on the US archery pioneers. I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Yes, Ted Fry offers it, he also gave photos to me for making the book, so did a lot of US archers and folks and helped me. Thanks also here to this guys! :)
One more vitnage style archery clip: :)
