Title: Question for you Big Horn recurve owners?
Post by: woodslinger on March 22, 2012, 04:10:00 PM
Just recntly picked up a used one and it is in the mail so I do not have it in hand. Trying to come up with some arrows to try out of it using Stu's calculator. My question is on rather or not the bow is cut to center or past center so I know what top put in the calculator for that varaible.

The bow is 60lbs@26 FF string and I draw 27.5" and would love to shoot the 165gr Simmons heads so anyone with something simmilar please let me know.

Using a 0 for the bows side plate the calculator says a CE Pile Driver 350 cut to 28.75 and using a 100 gr insert should be just about ideal. Any thoughts?

probably cut to center and at your draw will be about 64 lb.
God bless you, Steve

I've got a couple of bighorns and it never occurred to me to check the center cut I just tuned them the old fashioned way.

Steve is right you will be about 64#s My 65#@28 loves 2216's and 150 on the nose, and she also smokes easton FMJ 400's with 225 on the nose.

Not very technical but that is what has worked for me,I hope that was some help. Good luck keep us posted
